Excellent!
I already knew the story and wasn't going to buy the book until I saw that it was narrated by Martin Shaw. His performance is amazing. I always wanted to hear just a little bit more. This one is definitely a keeper.

Perfect, but too short
Nobody told me, that this is an ABRIDGED version. Martin Shaw is an amazing narrator and I've enjoyed every second of this audiobook, but... at some point I noticed, that the stream of events is going too fast. Then I realized, that some parts of the book are simply cut from this version of the story. The full-scale audiobook should be 11h+, but this is twice as short. I was very disappointed in the end.

Best reading yet
Though seemingly somewhat shorter than others, and missing sme of the Tolkien wit from those versions, this is an excellent version of the hobbit and should appeal to any Tolkien fan no matter what the age.

this fictional book is very exciting
the narrator was great at all those voices
especially Gollum the trolls and the wizard

The narrator left much to be desired! I could barely understand him when he did the troll voices. but it's the Hobbit. And I am a huge fan.
