Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical, martial-arts action.

Who is the Hero of Ages?

To end the Final Empire and restore freedom, Vin killed the Lord Ruler. But as a result, the Deepness - the lethal form of the ubiquitous mists - is back, along with increasingly heavy ashfalls and ever more powerful earthquakes. Humanity appears to be doomed.

Having escaped death at the climax of The Well of Ascension only by becoming a Mistborn himself, Emperor Elend Venture hopes to find clues left behind by the Lord Ruler that will allow him to save the world. Vin is consumed with guilt at having been tricked into releasing the mystic force known as Ruin from the Well. Ruin wants to end the world, and its near omniscience and ability to warp reality make stopping it seem impossible. She can't even discuss it with Elend, lest Ruin learn their plans!

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

Not all things are as they seem

I was surprised by the plot twist in the conclusion. I have enjoyed this entire series. Mr. Sanderson kept my attention very well. I recommend this series to any or all.

A phenomenal fantasy series.

A phenomenal fantasy series. Probably my second favorite after Song of Fire and Ice.

Some long series you sometimes feel the writer is making it up as they go. Other times, you feel like they really planned and mapped it all out. This is far too the latter.

By the end of the third book, I felt like most if not all my questions were answered. Even things that felt minor from book one, had relevance in the final book. So well thought out and executed.

Sort of makes me want to read the wheel of time books since he is doing the last three.

Get through the plodding parts

This has been one of the most moving plots I've ever experienced. Between the fighting, plotting, theology and dialogue, it's nothing sort of lovely. Completely worth the frustration of the slow start.

Loved it!

Great ending to a great series. Some reviews state that this book flashes back to the previous books too much, I didn't think that to be the case. Enjoy

Brillant ending to a brillant series!!!

Any additional comments?

A wonderful conclusion to this amazing trilogy that somehow manages to leave me feeling totally fulfilled AND wanting more at the same time! Amazing things happen in this book. Amazing discoveries are made, amazing character arcs are fulfilled, amazing actions are taken. Seriously, this story is fantastic.

Because it is a trilogy, I waited to write my reviews until I had finished this last book, so I would have a clear picture of the scope of the story and Sanderson's follow through on tying up all the threads. And indeed, he did a fabulous job! I absolutely love this series! By the end of this story everything is explained, every question I had in the first book was answered. Which was quite a relief! I hate stories that weave in little mysteries and questions and make you wonder about them but then never return to it or explain it. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. So thank you Brandon Sanderson for actually following through on everything!

There is a lot of depth and emotion in this book. I would say more so than the first 2. The story is beautifully unfolded, and everything is tied together masterfully. Some side characters get their chances to be heroes. Some heroes get to truly find their metal (pun intended *wink*). There is some sadness, some joy, some humor, some shocks, some of everything really. This book moves along a bit more than the 2nd book did, which is nice. And reveals are given throughout the whole thing, but a few are of course left for the end, and they are wonderful. The theology and philosophy is more prominent in this 3rd installment than the other 2, and I just love the way it brings all the pieces of the story together. I myself am a spiritual person, so for someone like me there are some wonderful and moving aspects that come together here. For those of you who may not be spiritually inclined, I do not believe that it will take anything away from the story for you, because the plot is still rich and epic whether you care about the theology or not. in my opinion anyways. Either way, if you've gotten this far and you liked the first 2 books, you absolutely must finish and read this one. In a way I think it is my favorite of the 3, but I love them all.

And even though everything is concluded beautifully, I am incredibly glad that there is a 4th book (The Alloy of Law), which takes place 300 years after the conclusion of this book. When you've finished reading this book, you will understand what I mean. You will want to read the Allow of Law. Trust me.

ENJOY!

Always amazing!

The story is awesome, but the pronunciation of many words is off.. Trebuchet for example. It's French. Look it up.
