Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical, martial-arts action.

Who is the Hero of Ages?

To end the Final Empire and restore freedom, Vin killed the Lord Ruler. But as a result, the Deepness - the lethal form of the ubiquitous mists - is back, along with increasingly heavy ashfalls and ever more powerful earthquakes. Humanity appears to be doomed.

Having escaped death at the climax of The Well of Ascension only by becoming a Mistborn himself, Emperor Elend Venture hopes to find clues left behind by the Lord Ruler that will allow him to save the world. Vin is consumed with guilt at having been tricked into releasing the mystic force known as Ruin from the Well. Ruin wants to end the world, and its near omniscience and ability to warp reality make stopping it seem impossible. She can't even discuss it with Elend, lest Ruin learn their plans!

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

A Perfect Ending

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Mostborne series and while I am sad to see it over, I feel satisfied with it's ending. I don't often feel that way at the end of a book. There always seems to be something missing or too much added but that's not the case here. A great book not only tells a story but helps the reader grow. This series has helped me in both entertainment and life. I'll miss Vynn and Ellond, Sazid and Spook but I think I'll remember them long after the finish of this book. Tinsune, Hammond, Kelseer, Marsh, Demue all felt like real people. Thank Mr. Sanderson for this great adventure.

Great conclusion to a trilogy, and a good value

The ending is well done, which is where a lot of stories fall flat. Also, if one is going to spend money on entertainment, an extremely long but engaging story such as this is a wise purchasing choice.

That Ending Though...

Most books don't end well...This book ended in a way that left you feeling completely satisfied...it made the book much greater than the sum of its parts...I can't say that about most stories...this one is special!

How does it get better every book?!

This is the third book in the series, and here's the crazy thing: every single book builds on the same set of facts, the same premise, that makes us see it in a new way which completely changes the story and the way we perceive it.

every single memorable detail in the book is explored and used like Checkovs gun, having exponentially more impact the longer it lingers in the story. almost nothing is simply there for dry reading, almost everything is meaningful and impactful to the story.

every single character is memorable, well fleshed out and developed and three-dimensional. by the first book, you already be in love with several characters and be terrified at the prospect of potentially losing them in the very heavy and real stakes that are built up through the series.

honestly this is a masterclass in writing.

very enjoyable!!!

The flow of the story feels like both an epic fantasy novel and a well paced mystery series. It is both dark and beautiful with moments of terror and sorrow punctuated by the wonder of love and the solid foundation of friendship. The character development is realistic and moving. I found it captivating!
