What the Critics Say

The gripping, suspenseful, and wry 10th tale in the Nightside supernatural detective series proves every but the equal of Jim Butcher's better-known Harry Dresden books. Longtime fans and first timers alike will applaud Green's blend of fantasy, mystery, and humor. (Publishers Weekly)

May I have some more? Marc Vietor Rocks this series!
This is not the book to start with, though each in the series can stand alone, they really are better read in order... Dark, funny, excellent world building!
Can't wait to see what's in store for John Taylor now that "Walker" is gone... or is he?

With each recent installment, Green repeats the same formula used before. Even the same words! For details, please see my reviews of the previous two novels, The Unnatural Inquirer and Just Another Judgement Day. Honestly, I wouldn't have even picked up The Good, the Bad, and the Uncanny if I hadn't already purchased it (and the rest of the novels) when it was on sale at Audible. That'll teach me. The audio production and narration by Marc Vietor is excellent, though.

Immigration lawyer in Kansas City. I like Character driven dramas, fantasy (monsters, magic and witches oh my!) and coming of age stories. Favs include: The Book Thief, The Game of Throne series, Harry Potter Series, Dresden Files, Nightside series, anything by Neil Gaimen, 100 Years of Solitude.

"Always good to check in with John Taylor"

I really enjoy this series. John Taylor, His teenage secretary, Suzy Shooter, Walker and the rest of the gang are always up to shenanigans. These books are very light and fun. They are fast moving and they are a great distraction from real life. This is another great book.

    "a coming of age story"

fantastic characters and descriptive passages, very entertaining and funny. A great read for a teenager, as the hero is so unwilling to conform and accept responsibilities forced onto him, even within his strange unconformist world.

    "Great storyline"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Good, the Bad, and the Uncanny to be better than the print version?

Yes, It is better because the narrator acts out the different roles and makes the tory more interesting.

    When Jhon kills Walker.

What does Marc Vietor bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

He uses different voices for different characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The verry last sceene when Walker confesses to John.

    Any additional comments?

Great overall book and I love the way they leave you hanging, so you will read the next one in the series.

    "I love Simon R. Green"
What made the experience of listening to The Good, the Bad, and the Uncanny the most enjoyable?

This book is a good balance of great character portrayal by the narrator and Simon Green's amazing writing. My husband started me on his books and they just get better and better. I have to pace myself with the Nightside series so I don't run out before the next one's out! Now if they would just do his Fisher & Hawke series, too!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Being the boss isn't all it's cracked up to be where you never live the same night twice.

    Any additional comments?

Smart, funny, quirky, action-packed...who could want more?

Really enjoyed this one as I did the other novels. Just what you expect from the author providing an imaginative and funny take on this unusual private eye.
    Particularly liked the ending.
