Jahna and Lovern's clan lay in the Romans' path of destruction. The death of their people is a certainty, unless a bargain is made with the Gods, even if it means a human sacrifice. Will the trade the Druid Lovern, and his visionary wife, Jahna make with the Gods, save their family?
Two thousand years later, Aine MacRae is on their trail. She's a struggling archaeologist, on the verge of uncovering the village were Jahna and Lovern lived. While the story itself was pretty good, it would have been much more enjoyable if there hadn't been musical intermissions between each chapter and if someone with a more expressive voice had done the actual reading. The music got so annoying that as soon as a chapter ended and the darn music or song started, I would skip the music and go right into the next chapter. I would have never gotten through the book any other way.
This could be a great book, but I was really put off by the narrator. She made the book sound really boring and it was very easy to lose the story line. A good book ruined.
