Well worth it

Was a adventure of epic proportions. Well worth every minute. Characters so richly alive and well portrayed. Can't wait for the next one.

Unparalleled world building

It is a book about a world that happens to focus on a handful of characters instead of just one. It is simply wonderful and I cannot recommend it enough.

Audiobook perfection

The epic that is the wheel of time series is in itself a great experience. However, the great performances by Kate Redding and Michael Kramer really elevates it. Consistancy in their voices for the different characters as well as the near seemless tag-team reading makes you fall into the story and lets you get swept away to an intriquet world full of life, magic and foreign cultures.

Erratic accents, but very entertaining

While there are several times that Mr Kramer can't seem to pick a voice for a character and stick to it, he has an impressive range of character voices and accents to work with. with a 14-book series some slips are to be expected, and they make it feel more like it's a story being told by an old friend, or by a grandparent you didn't see often telling you a story before bedtime while you were a kid.

Narrator ruins it for me

I really want to get into this series, but for me, the male narrator ruins it. He reads it like he’s bored. It’s hard to follow when he’s reading about different characters because his tone never changes. It lulls me to sleep. I had higher expectations of such an epic series.

great book 1

I was worried, seeing some reviewers comment on how having a male and female narrator ruined their experience. this was not the case for me. both narrated well, and added to the immersion.

Very good start to the series

I have yet to read this entire series and it was recommended to me. With the new Amazon Prime original series coming out in November 2021, I felt it was time to listen to the book before I saw the series. Though it started off a bit slow, it was soon very engaging. Like many fantasy novels, there were a lot of uncommon names to keep track of, which was difficult for me with Audible. Seeing the names often is easier to track. Especially with so many sounding the same. But, the story was truly great and I always enjoy listening to these two performers. I really enjoyed their other readings of Brandon Sanderson’s books.

Overall, I do give it 5-stars and recommend this book. Can’t say yet for the series.
