Publisher's summary

It has been 12 years since the dead began to walk. The Earth is overrun with the rotting corpses of humanity that swarm through the lands and devour everything in their path. The cities have become graveyards, their tall buildings morphing into giant, crumbling tombstones that watch over the carcasses of civilization while small clusters of the living hide amongst the ruins.

The base is surrounded and running low on supplies, ammunition, and, above all, hope. As the people within the fortress walls slowly suffer the same fate that has befallen the rest of the world, they realize that the time has come for them to leave. Under the leadership of Tina, the survivors must confront their worst fears and venture out into the infested wasteland to find a new place to live before it is too late.

Stan and his men are also searching for a new beginning. With virtually nothing left for them to scavenge during their raiding parties to the shore, they need to look elsewhere, but they cannot do it alone. Seeing no other choice, they launch one final and daring mission to the mainland in a bid to ensure their continued survival.

Did not read print

What other book might you compare The Dead Walk the Earth: Part IV to and why?

none other. The guy doing the reading is impossible to ignore

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His terrible accent

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It angered me that the audible people could not be bothered to find someone competent to do the reading

Entertaining Classic Zombie Story

Any additional comments?

This is book 4 in the series, I have not listened to the previous installments of the series. While it wasn't really a problem to follow the story line, I think my enjoyment of the story would have been that much more had I read the previous installments and had more of a connection to the characters through their backstories. At some point I would like to read the previous books in the series.

Entertaining and enjoyable classic zombie apocalypse story that is in it's 12th year after the collapse of civilization. This story happens to take place in and around England. The pockets of humanity that have managed to survive this far are struggling even more as time goes by. The situations the survivors find themselves in are realistic. In a constant struggle to survive can they find any place that is safe?

What an epilogue.

Andrew B. Wherlen did a great job with the narration. Nice voice, easy to listen to for hours on end. Smooth even pace of narration. Great character voices. Always enjoyable listening to his narration.

Repeated line in chapter 6, about 38 min in.

Good clasic zombie book

I really enjoyed this audio book. Classic zombie story with survivors several years into the harsh new world. This story line was very exciting. Easy to get into even though I started the series on #4. I received this for free for an honest review.

Zombie genre at its best

4th book in the series. I have not read the others yet I still immensely enjoyed the authors story as it was well delivered by the narrator. There is obviously Some serious backstory on all the characters and some hints of really great story elements that took place in the past three novels that I
Look forward to getting and exploring. Yet it can still be read as a stand alone. It delivers on a classic zombie story years into the apocalypse. Can't wait to read the rest. Normal Zombie action

Is there anything you would change about this book?

An English narrator would help. Make more off the normal civilians, they cant all just be a 'ball-and-chain"

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The suspense and action was perfect. Nail biting. The plot could be more interesting, I wanted to know what happen on the boat. How did they get to an ice land, where do they get food, water, clothes?

Have you listened to any of Andrew B. Wehrlen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He has a nice round voice. He sounds like a good narrator, but not for a book with British accents. I sometimes did not know the location changed to different people. A scene change announcement would have helped.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, the action was suspenseful and realistic.

Any additional comments?

The heroes are all soldiers. The civilians where useless background prop's. I would like to believe I would contribute more to my own survival even if I am a housewife.

Good zombie book

Have you listened to any of Andrew B. Wehrlen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. As usual, it takes me a little bit to get used to his cadence. Once I do, I enjoy his narration.

Any additional comments?

I liked the whole series. I enjoyed listening to this book until it got to the end. I think the next time I listen to this book, I will stop listening when the epilogue starts. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Another great ZA book

It probably would've been better if I had read books 1 through 3 first. That didn't hinder how much I enjoyed it however. Definitely going to go grab the few first few books. I enjoyed the characters and the world created. The story wasn't anything unique, but it's still a fun listen. Full of all the action/horror ZA fans crave.

The narrator was pretty good. Not my favorite, but he did a good job.
