Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

Worth the wait!!
Would you consider the audio edition of The Daylight War to be better than the print version?
Honestly, I never read the print version.
What did you like best about this story?
It took off where it left off. This audible book was highly anticipated. The ending left me wanting more. I hope there is a follow-up. This author does an excellent job making sure the reader understands what makes each character tick without slowly the pace of the story.
Have you listened to any of Pete Bradbury’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Always a treat. A true compliment to the experience.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My eyes remained wide open during the listening. I never knew what would happen next. I cringed (physically) at several points in the story. A few characters never failed to deliver the unexpected chuckle.
Any additional comments?
The entire series is well written and delivered. I truly hope there is a follow-up book. The unique and complex method of magic is a testimonial to this author's creativity. It is why I will forever love Fantasy novels. Really excellent!

I might be addicted.
Left me craving more! Literally... That's not easy to do with a 3rd book in a series. The amount of backstory in this series would usually put me off as I -like most readers- am eager for a story to progress. But the way the author weaves the history of characters is nothing short of masterful.

Great Story but needs less explicit sexual content
What did you love best about The Daylight War?
I loved the constructed universe and the way powers are implimented.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Daylight War?
My favorite moment is when the warded man uses his new abilities of to fight his old friend and show his real power.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The biggest issue I have with this series is the explicit sexual content. It is bad enough that I debated not reading the rest of the series.

I love the story, main characters, and the universe he creates but hate the pornographic content.
