Publisher's summary

Peter V. Brett has won rave reviews for his internationally best-selling novels, including his stunning debut, The Warded Man.

A continuation of his epic Demon Cycle series, The Daylight War features Inevera, the wife of Jadir, who took center stage in Book 2, The Desert Spear. In this heart-stopping installment, humanity continues to struggle against the demon plague - even as survivors hold out hope that the Deliverer will save them all. On the night of the new moon, the demons rise in force, seeking the deaths of two men, both of whom have the potential to become the fabled Deliverer, the man prophesied to reunite the scattered remnants of humanity in a final push to destroy the demon corelings once and for all.

Unable to Listen on Headphones

I have been listening to this mostly on my car speakers and in house bluetooth speakers.
During the past week I traveled and had to mostly listen to this through Headphones and one thing stood out.
Throughout the majority of the audio you could hear various mouth noises from Pete Bradburry. While I didn't notice using regular speakers, through headphones it was almost unbearable.

This is from Someone who suffers from Misophonia. So take that how you will.
I would recommend anyone that has Misophonia to stay away if you need to use Headphones or prefer headphones while listening to this.

Other than that, Pete Bradburry does an amazing job just needs to learn to control the lip smacking or popping he does at the end of sentences.

Story is amazing though. The whole concept though a little cliche with the factions is really good and I think done fairly well to show both in the best and worst way they can be perceived.

Again a great entry in this series.

Every book in this series so far has pulled me along at a lightning pace, making it hard to pause for later. Already I'm wanting to get the next in the series. These books keep you changing your opinions about characters again and again, sometimes it's hard to like those you thought the heros and hard to not agree with those you thought the villains making you truly consider which faction or character is right and which is wrong. Just all around a great story!

Best so far

Any additional comments?

Mr Brett has definitely found himself in this sequel. The writing was excellent and pulls you right in. Even scenes that are just fighting sequences are brought to life

If you are a fan of the first two (and you should be) this sequel does not disappoint!

Another Great Installment of a Well Crafted Story

If you've gotten this far, you're probably already hooked on this series. This book follows 'The Desert Spear' and is a solid addition to the first two books. It has some great plot twists. Definitely leaves you wanting to know what happens next (which is probably the point).
All in all, totally worth your time.

Another great story

Third book done and still wanting more. The orator is incredible, his ability to pronounce the names so musically is astounding.

Third time

Still a good listen. Third time through.
I enjoy the characters, and the magic system is genius.
This one ends in a great cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers, however I have the whole series so I can start the next book right away.

A great addition to the series

I was worried after reading many of the other reviews. It’s true that the dialog between Arlen and Renna got a bit repetitive, but I found that the backstory of Inevera was amazing and added depth and a bit of empathy to her and the Dama Ting. The world building and progression was great imho.
