Publisher's summary

Drizzt Do'Urden has settled in the windswept towns of Icewind Dale. There, he encounters a young barbarian named Wulfgar, captured in a raid and made the ward of a grizzled dwarf name Bruenor. With Drizzt's help, Wulfgar will grow from a feral child to a man with the heart of a dwarf, the instincts of a savage, and the soul of a hero. But it will take even more than that to defeat the demonic power of Crenshininbon, the fabled Crystal Shard.

I love this series!!!

Read the first 2 or 3 but then I caved and bought the audible version because I can listen to it when I'm at work and I don't have to worry about getting caught in the "one more page" fight for 4 hours instead of sleeping. Yes, it's that good, I can't hardly put them down! the characters are fun to get to know, the stories pop into my head often, and the writing is detailed and when I think about these stories they replay in my head as though they're scenes from a movie!!

the narration of the time old tale was well read. the many adventures of this odd troupe as well as the sentiment shared among them is to be marveled at. this is one of my favorite artist of lore.

The Original Adventure.

For all those fantasy lovers out there this is a great series to start. Although the trilogy 'Dark Elf' containing Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn is the beginning of Drizzt story this book was the first to be written by RA Salvatore, and as with all writers the beginning is less refined. I started with the Dark Elf series and grew to love Drizzt and his feline companion Guenhwyvar. RA Salvatore writing talent grows as he continues with each piece of work created. Narrator is good and I think his voice for the Orc/Goblin is funny he makes them sound like bumbling fools.

Great book

In the first few books Bevine's voices were rather static and few, but as he continues the series he's getting better at storytelling, rather than just dictating.

This book itself is wonderful, as are just about all of the Drizzt books, particularly the newest installments.
