Time and $ well spent
TGR narrates and he never lets down. Hands down my favorite narrator.
This book was entertaining and captivating. You find yourself rooting for certain characters and hating others. I love reading about the beginning of The Riyria. You won’t be disappointed.

Brilliant!
There is an expectation that origin stories and prequels are written for fans, to satisfy their curiosity, yet I find them often lacking in substance. However, this tale is one of those rare gems that is nothing short of bloody brilliant. Hadrian and Royce are back! Their banter alone is worth the price of the book, but they are joined by a wonderful cast of characters who I fell in love with more and more as the story progressed. This story and amazing performance surpassed all expectations, and for that, it gets five stars from me.

Unexpected Gem!
This is the first book I've ever read by this author. I saw that his books have received a lot of great reviews so I thought I would try it out. It was such an unexpected and enjoyable surprise.
The story is original, fast-paced, exciting, and at times funny. I truly enjoyed seeing the relationship develop between Hadrian and Royce. For me this was the very best part of the book.
The narration is excellent. I will definitely read other books in the series and other works by this author.

good intro to adventures
enjoyed story! the better between the two heroes created interesting conflict to resolve the conlict of characters. The side story with the professor hinted at future discoveries and ongoing adventures.

Riyria Awesome
Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I have fallen in love with Hadrian and Royce. We love their bantering and can not wait for more of their adventures. This is the 4th time we have listened to the book. Harry Potter series is the only book that has surpassed the Riyria series!

Another fantastic story
I was hoping to find a continuation of the excitement I had in reading the Ryria Revelations... I want disappointed.
My only reservation about this serious is the authors occasional use of the phrase g--damn, which I find particularly offensive. The usage is rare thankfully, but more frequent in this book than any of its predecessors.
That aside, the authors style, ability and storyline are unbeatable. I loved it.
