Publisher's summary

The number one New York Times best-selling series finale and sequel to A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night.

Look for the hit TV series A Discovery of Witches, streaming on AMC Plus, Sundance Now, and Shudder.

Bringing the magic and suspense of the All Souls Trilogy to a deeply satisfying conclusion, this highly anticipated finale went straight to number one on the New York Times best seller list. In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present - facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches - with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency.

So happy . .

Ahhh loved it. 😍😍 Wonderful series. Wish it was longer but it was fun, exciting, suspenseful, and a different view on witches and vampires.
The narrator killed it was all the accents and voices.

Hooked from the beginning!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Book of Life to be better than the print version?

I don't know. The Print version there are things I could go back and reread if I needed, however, the audio version was marvelous! The voices, languages, descriptions, everything came to life and it was hard to stop listening!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Too many to name.

Which character – as performed by Jennifer Ikeda – was your favorite?

Again, they were all great!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, absolutely.

Any additional comments?

All 3 books are amazing and catch your attention so quickly. There were parts that I never saw coming, however, I don't try to guess. I enjoy letting the story take me where it will without overthinking things.

As always, a pleasure to listen to.

From the story to the new characters to the narration, A Discovery of Witches is a masterpiece. I am so happy I have completed the series, but so sad that it's over.

Magically Delicious

Picking up after a time walk to Elizabethan England, this book is an enchanting continuation of Diana and Matthew's story. Studded with glimmering detail, Harkness's latest effort is action-packed with the quest for The Book of Life, dealing with old foes, and coming to terms with power... personal and otherworldly. Definitely recommend!

Sad to be finished

Any additional comments?

I re-read the 2 previous books to prepare for this one. It was fun to reacquaint myself with the stories and characters. I finished the final book in the series 3 days ago and find my mind wandering again and again back to the world of Diana and Matthew.

I LOVED this Trilogy

What did you love best about The Book of Life?

The suspense!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course, it was Dianna. She had cool control of her magic once she learned how to use it.

What about Jennifer Ikeda’s performance did you like?

The fact that she could make herself sound like so many different characters and her ability to portray so many different accents. Good skill.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely

Any additional comments?

A well-rounded ending to the trilogy

The third book in the All Souls trilogy was a gripping as the others. Just the right amount of fantasy, thrill, and love to satisfy my tastes.
