Publisher's summary

This holiday season, join two of today’s most popular paranormal authors for a special look into their worlds, where creatures are always stirring and no one sleeps through the night.... The Bite Before Christmas

The Gift by Lynsay Sands: Teddy Brunswick knows about the immortals among us. He’s worked with them, called them friend - but he never counted on being snowed in with one over Christmas. Katricia Argeneau is a tasty little bundle and she seems to feel the same way about him. Problem is, he’s not sure she feels quite the same way. After all, the snowstorm has derailed her blood delivery, which leaves him the only available meal on the menu....

Home for the Holidays by Jeaniene Frost: Cat and Bones are looking forward to a normal holiday - at least as “normal” as it gets for the combustible vampire couple and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a stranger shows up and reveals long-buried family secrets that threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer... and lives.

Enjoyable holiday story

As others have noted, the second story (by Frost) was better told than the first. Nonetheless, I also found the story by Sands quite enjoyable and the narrator for that portion of this audio-book did a good job. I listened to this while driving home for the holidays, and it definitely helped make the drive more enjoyable, and the time go by faster.

I would reccomend it because Lyndsay Sands is a fabulous writer with a very funny approach to the subject matter.

What aspect of Paula Christensen and Tavia Gilbert ???s performance would you have changed?

The other 2 writers did not grab me nor pull me in to the story. I really did not listen for long.

Relatives can get under your skin

Would you try another book from Lynsay Sands and Jeaniene Frost and/or Paula Christensen and Tavia Gilbert ?

I already have tried the audiobooks from Jeaniene Frost/Tavia Gilbert and I really like the series. Lynsay Sands audiobook wasn't as interesting though.

Would you recommend The Bite Before Christmas to your friends? Why or why not?

Not really, this story doesn't represent most of the stories of Cat and Bones. It felt like a force theme.
Lynsay Sands' story was all right but not very interesting.

Have you listened to any of Paula Christensen and Tavia Gilbert ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Tava Gilbett is always wonderful to listen to, but this is the first time I listen to Paula Christensen. Paula voice is nice to listen to, but the story didn't do anything for me.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

A holiday season read

What did you love best about The Bite Before Christmas?

Frost and Gilbert is an awesome team and of course I love Bones and Cat entire series. Sands short story is good but wasn't a fan of Christensen.

What did you like best about this story?

Cat and Bones

Have you listened to any of Paula Christensen and Tavia Gilbert ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Gilbert's many times and I just love how she narrates. Christensen never before and personally not a fan of her voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I love Home for the Holidays story!!! Very interesting and liked how it flowed. Cat and Bones always makes me feel that their relationship is real.

Any additional comments?

Worth a buy.

Jeaniene Frost’s book

I enjoyed Janine process book versus the first one. The first story sent to jump from one thing to another. I just wasn’t very smooth to me. Jeaniene Frost’s series is great, this is a nice addition to that.

not worth a credit

the first story started well..nice premise. but it went on much too long with sex scenes that really weren't that good and added nothing to the story. really needed a good copy editor IMO. The second story was better but had only a glancing connection to christmas.

Let down

Very disapponted in this book. Waited with great anticipation, only to be let down with a short story. I hope Ms Sands is not losing her touch. The Argeneau's have much more life left in them yet and hopefully a better book is yet to come.

Very Disappointed

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Listening was okay.

Has The Bite Before Christmas turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, but Lynsay Sands stories are fun and it was like she just threw this together. I was really looking forward to this. Wow. She didn't even try.

Any additional comments?

The story telling was fine. The story just never got started and ended before it started. Very disappointed.

Lynsay Sands - no

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the story written by Lynsay Sands was not part of this recording.

Would you ever listen to anything by Lynsay Sands and Jeaniene Frost again?

I enjoy the creativity of Ms. Frost. I would never listen to Sands again

How could the performance have been better?

Better story by Sands

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Bite Before Christmas?

Sands wrote a sexual fantasy which was not what was indicated in the preview. The story was flat and had little to keep the interest of the reader. If it had been a book, I would have found few pages worth reading.
I would have cut her whole short story.
