Publisher's summary

Isabella Rose is on the run, hunted by the very people she had been hired to work for. Trained killer Isabella and former handler Michael Pope are forced into hiding in India and, when a mysterious informer passes them clues on the whereabouts of Pope's family, the prey see an opportunity to become the predators.

Chased from the poverty of Mumbai's slums into the sights of a sniper's rifle amongst the lavish wealth of Shanghai, Isabella and Pope hunt fleeting shadows in a race against time. And they can't afford to lose.

The Agent is the third part in a continuing story involving Isabella Rose that also includes The Angel and The Asset.

Another good read and awesome narration..

Continuing with the story of Michael Pope and Isabella Rose was really exciting BUT this book had a lot more useless crap in it. Pope mentioned all the places they’d been to: London, Switzerland, Turkey, Syria, Italy, Shanghai, Vladivostok, and Washington DC. Now, can you imagine all those places and someone naming every single road you drove down? Every road, highway, street, path, look-out point? Everything? Especially in Shanghai CHINA? It was totally ridiculous. This book was the worst so far, even as good as it was it was the worst.

As I said it was exciting. During a rescue Pope saw Isabella fall about 30 feet into the snow covered ground and assumed she was killed BUT since he was running through the forest for his life he couldn’t check on her. And there was a surprising savior who was there and got Isabella to a hospital. Now, Isabella and her savior are headed to Mexico to try to get away from all those bad guys.

I’m off to read book 4 and I do hope this is the last one. Each book has been a cliffhanger but I hope this one’s not.

As to the narration: OMG! Napoleon Ryan is simply fabulous. His voices and emotions are outstanding. AND his pronunciation of ALL those streets they went down was amazing.

Exciting conspiracy theory

The story begins with Isabella and Pope being chased from their hiding place by their former employers. They receive help from a powerful, but anonymous source. That source will help Pope find where his family is being held for a price. That price is to help the source obtain evidence that could stop a government-military contractor conspiracy from pushing Britain and the US into war. Isabella and Pope don’t know whom they can trust.

Their race around the globe is suspenseful full of action. Unfortunately, the plot espouses a typical conspiracy theory that our own governments are behind all evil things that happen.

Exciting espionage thriller!

I understand why Audible classifies the genre as contemporary Sci-FI, but The Agent's genre is espionage thriller. This is the third novel in British author Mark Dawson's Isabella Rose series. The series should be listened to in order. Even better, listen to Dawson's three novel Beatrix Rose series first beginning with In Cold Blood. Isabella is Bestrix's daughter and was in her early teen when her mom died. Her age is 15 years in The Agent. An ex-British espionage agent named Pope who worked with Beatrix Rose plays a major part in the first three novels in the Isabella Rose series, but it appears that his role may be complete. If you like espionage thrillers with lots of action and extreme suspense give Mark Dawson's novels a try.

What a wonderful series!!!

This book and entire Isabella Rose series is fantastic! It will be one of the top 5 books that you have ever read/listened to, I believe. Action, intrigue, thrills, stealth, plot twists, and more action. Napoleon Ryan and Mark Dawson hit it out of the park with this one. It leaves you craving for more. Enjoy!

Frustrated!

Well, I guess there's to be yet another Isabella Rose novel. Don't know if I'm up for another. Dawson spends an inordinate amount of time on scenic routes and descriptive weaponry. This includes a narrative of every street the agents turn on as well as types of weapons, where they originated and how many rounds they fire. Pope, Isabella and the supporting characters are more of an afterthought to a travel guide. I for one am more interested in the story than the roads in China! Way too much unnecessary background in these novels that actually take away from the plot and make for some very boring listening. Which speaking of, the narrator uses the same tone of voice for young girls and boys which I find irritating. These had the potential to be some very good novels if only the author had stuck more to try the story line.
