Publisher's summary

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Epic edge: listen to more in the Sword of Truth series.

narrator sucks!

Narrator can't get the characters names right and is very unpleasant to listen to! I will never purchase a book narrated by Dick Hill again. Shame on the publisher for allowing such a sloppy narration!!!

Although a good book the narrator is horrid.

I this is a good book but the narrator leaves MUCH to be desired. From mispronouncing names to making the mud people sound like they are unintelligent. IF you can get past all of this (plus what the others have mentioned) the book over all is good but I hope that Dick Hill doesn't narrate ANY future books. I also hope that in the future they at least give a pronunciation guide to future narrators so that they can properly pronounce the names of the characters. So please NO MORE Dick Hill!

Best Book in this series, HORRIBLE Narrator

The story is fantastic, one of the best in the series in my opinion.
While the narrator does do some cool things with one or two characters, on the whole this guy stinks. You can tell he has not read any of the other books. He mispronounces names. He gives the mud people voices that remind me of Don Corleone from the Godfather, German accent for one of the generals, and the accents are on and off. Sometimes he uses them sometimes he doesn't.

wrong name from the narrator

What made the experience of listening to Temple of the Winds the most enjoyable?

this has been one of the best book series i have read in a long time this stroy fills in some great back story on character from BLOOD OF THE FOLD.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Temple of the Winds?

the most memorable moment in twmple of the winds is Richards wedding . . . you will know what i mean

How could the performance have been better?

OMG this is where i have all my problems with this book. if you have listened to the other 3 books your are used to the character Kahlan Amnell this narator calls her Colin. i found myself shouting out her real name bacause i did not know who the "f" this Colin person was. be warned that!!!!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

there was this moment in the book when Richard becomes the most powerful person ever, and your just like OMG this is going to solve everything then plot twist. made me so sad.

Mispronounced Name but great story

I would agree with everyone else the mispronouncing her name was very distracting and super upsetting. I had to say the right name everytime he said the wrong just to deal with it. however his use of voices and effects he added with them was great. if he had got the name right it would have been one of the best preformances but sadly the error in pronouncing will keep it from being so. great story Tho.

Good continuation of the story; well-narrated

Like the previous three books, the story was engaging enough to keep me listening. I learned a bit more about the fabric of the Midlands and more about the history that contributed to the state of affairs in the present. While other reviews were critical of the narrator, I have to say he’s been one of my favorites. Yes, I had to get over Kahlan being pronounced “Collin”, but otherwise I felt the narrator had consistent, distinguishable voices for the characters throughout the story and added really cool sound effects to ethereal voices and prophecy, which was very immersive for me. He was also good at conveying the various emotions/passion of the characters without sounding clownish/outlandish like in the last book’s narration. I would like to hear this narrator again and am looking forward to immersing myself in the next installment of Sword of Truth.

Everything is great

The book is my third favorite in the series and overall pretty good. My only issue is that the narrator miss pronounced several things which gets annoying throughout the book. Other than that though, it’s great.

phenomenal!

The narrator for this started off a little annoying. especially if your used to the pronunciation of different characters names from previous books. However, as the book continues, the narrator does the job stupendously! He really gives his all in his performance. The story itself will keep you on your toes at every turn, and Goodkind takes you on yet again an emotional rollercoaster. All I can say it bravo!
