Publisher's summary

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Epic edge: listen to more in the Sword of Truth series.

Different narrator means different pronunciations

I didn’t like that the narrator pronounced Kahlan’s name as Collin - it reminds me of a male’s name. The past narrators pronounces it as Kay-lin. I just like consistency. And the way he made the mud people sound I felt like they were mobsters... but I made it through! I did like that he used voices though. I really wish they would just stick with one narrator for all the books in the series. Other than that, the story was alright. It wasn’t terrible, but I feel like it dragged on at times.

didn't like the narrators that read the others.

I like the narrator that narrated the first book in this series, I believe his name is Daniel Chouchavis?? in Wizards first rule. he was very talented and I believe that he should have been the one to read the entire series. and all the other books by Terry Goodkind. these other narrators do a disservice in keeping up with the personalities of the caricatures. like khalen Richard Zedicus Zull Zorender Chase , and Addie. Daniel was so good that I felt like I was apart of their lives.

My biggest issue was with the way he pronounced character names. Otherwise, a good story

Narrator mispronounced the names

I previous read the books and have been listening to the audiobooks. This narrator said a bunch of the names differently. Don't know which is right but at least stay consistent!

Great Stories, Why couldn't the narrator....

Would you consider the audio edition of Temple of the Winds to be better than the print version?

Great Stories, Why couldn't the narrator have listened to any of the original? He butchers the names to distraction. Too bad as I really enjoy the story line. But the book is good enough to continue. I'll be inclined to not listen to any others narrated by Hill though.

Narrator was horrific.

Loved the book but was incredibly disappointed with the performance. if I could have given 0 stars I would have. This far into the series the narrator should know how to at least pronounce the main characters name. He pronounces Kahl Kahlan's name as either "Cullen" or "Collin" which I must say was pure torture through the whole 29hrs of this book. Not at all impressed, and I will never listen to another audio book narrated by this man.

This was a great book. Goodkind should have quit here.

Love this story

What made the experience of listening to Temple of the Winds the most enjoyable?

I've "Read" the first 3 and I wanted to know what happens in the story. This continues where it left off with very little back story but just enough to catch you up.

Who was your favorite character and why?

You can pick just one.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

yes

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

I admit I was first brought into this world through the TV Series. The series ended without finishing the story so I decided to read the books. I started with the first book and I kept going. The only book that can considered truly stand alone is the first one. So if you hate series be aware that this is one that you will love for all time but once you start you can stop.
