Everything they know is gone. The old world obliterated in less than 48 hours. They soon discover they aren't alone, and other dangers besides the undead lurk in the forests. The new law of the land: kill or be killed.
Dr. Everett Berning and his team seek refuge in the underground lab in the Ozark Mountains. The first week after the collapse of civilization, those who made it out alive struggle against the odds to survive.
Only a handful escaped the devastation in their hometown of Malvern, Arkansas, and they grapple with the new reality. Tired, frightened, and mourning the loss of loved ones, they attempt to regroup and cope with the life-altering changes.
When one suffers a debilitating injury, they are thrust into a tenuous relationship with Dr. Berning's group. Other survivors battle the odds as they flee treacherous cities destroyed by the government and crawling with reanimated corpses.
Unfortunately, they all are about to discover the roaming dead aren't the only threat they face. As the world plummets into darkness, things will never be the same. Ever.

Following the completely compelling Tainted Cure and Tainted Reality, Ashley Fontainne returns with the third installment in The Rememdium series. This exceptional zombie apocalypse saga really should be read in order. In Tainted Future, the remaining survivors are trying to cope as best they can with their new, gruesome reality. However, life is not just about finding provisions and escaping the human "munchers" now. There are additional, unforeseen dangers that the survivors soon become aware of, which force the different groups to cooperate and which create some rather unlikely heroes and heroines. I love it that Ms. Fontainne still manages to surprise me with the way the characters are developing. While further new characters are introduced and some beloved characters fall by the wayside, others will amaze you with their determination and craftiness. The story line boasts a really good mix of exciting zombie action and fighting, and emotional human stories that pull you in and make you care about the characters. Ashley Fontainne and Rebecca Roberts make such a fantastic team that I will now listen to anything they produce even if it is outside the standard genres that I tend to go for. Ms. Roberts's narration is as stellar as ever. She really brings this story to life for me with her different voices and accents that are entirely convincing and completely appropriate for the characters she portrays. There were no concerns regarding the quality of the production.
Although this is the third book in the series, and I am not sure how many parts are planned, there are plenty of new plot developments to keep this fresh, suspenseful and dynamic. I look forward to the next installment of this addictive series and would highly recommend all the books to anybody who enjoys thrilling stories about the destruction of the world which are more than pure action yarns but feature thoroughly developed characters.

4.5 out of 5 stars
Tainted Future shows that there is more to be afraid of than the zombies. The world has turned upside down and now even cities are being destroyed. What will a family do to survive? What is the government doing to help anyone? Is anyone finding a cure? These will all be touched in Tainted Future.
The narration for Tainted Future was done by Rebecca Roberts who crushes it again. She has been the perfect narrator for this series so far, and I couldn't imagine another narrator reading these stories to me.
This almost could have been an alternative to book one. There wasn't too much that tied it too hard to the other stories, and it felt like the survivors were just dealing with the problem for the first time. There's nothing wrong with that, I just remember looking at the title to make sure that I was actually listening to book three.
Tainted Future was a fast paced survival book. Taking place within the headquarters of different survivor groups and showing some of the damage done to the people, society, and the cities around them.
While I've been enjoying this series a lot, the abrupt endings are killing me! I like the story and the characters, but I also want a feeling of closure. Fontainne knows how to keep you coming back for more, that's for sure.
I was given a free copy of this book by the narrator.

This was a really good book, though I have to admit that it did not have my attention like the previous two books in the series. That may be because I was still grieving the loss of Regina in the previous book, and she was my favorite character. In general, all the characters in this book/series are really well-developed, and it is easy to get attached to them and care about them. These are very fast-paced books that are filled with suspense. Even for a person that doesn't normally read zombie books, these are really enjoyable and enthralling. I listened to the Audible audio version narrated by Rebecca Roberts, and I really enjoyed it. In fact, she may be my new favorite female narrator. She does great voices and great pacing. Overall, a great book.
I love almost anything post-apocalyptic, zombie, scifi, ect. Always looking for some new earhole entertainment!
I absolutely love this series! It keeps getting better and better! Ashley Fontainne is a great author and Rebecca Roberts does a great job with the narration! This is an excellent post apocalyptic series about a fungal infection that turns people, and now animals, into zombies.
I enjoyed the print version but Rebecca Roberts just made the Audio version FUN to listen to
I almost cried when Reed ...
She is as always Amazing with the way she just makes the Characters come to life in your minds eye
Thank you Ashley Fontainne & Rebecca Roberts for making my Summer more fun with theses books to listen to! Please write & record more. I am hoping & cannot wait for Book Four!
I am at that half a century mark in years. I enjoy audiobooks, cats, rats and most days my family, not necessarily in that order!lol
Our stories continue with Rebecca Roberts narrating, not a world after a 'cure' for drug addiction is altered and unloaded into the world.Zombies are a constant threat as well as other survivors who are taking everything with no thought for others. It is a heck of a ride into the future...
I was given this book free for a honest review.I honestly love listening to these stories!
A step above your averaged "Apocalypse" genre books. The author does an excellent job with character development.
The narrator brings the characters alive. I look forward to more works by Fontainne and Roberts.
they just keep getting better and better, I can't wait to find out how this story ends. I'm not a fan of zombies, but it's enjoyable. I feel very invested in the characters but I don't know who is going to live and who will die, it makes me sad when a favorite doesn't make it. I have a feeling I'm going to like this stories conclusion, and how it all comes together.
another job well done with the narration. there is a lot of characters and she still manages to have a different voice for each one.
