Despite having their secret revealed, the residents of Melbrook Hall return to Lander University for another year in the Hero Certification Program. Good thing the focus of this year is teamwork, because with their origins known, they'll have to lean on each other more than ever.
Now finally sophomores, their curriculum expands, allowing them to train in the majors that Heroes specialize in. The new classes will test their minds, bodies, and determination in ways never anticipated. In a year filled with the unveiling of secrets, unexpected entanglements, and, of course, super-powered battles, who will be left standing is anyone's guess. Because if all that weren't enough, more light is being shed on last year's kidnapping attempt, and the results point at something far bigger than mere rogue educators.
Something that isn't even close to being over with.

I really enjoyed year 1 and was anxiously awaiting year 2, but I would never have anticipated how beyond satisfying it would be.
I rarely have time to sit down and read but am seriously considering reading year 3 instead of waiting a month. For the moment, my soul is happy and satiated. For the moment...
we continue to see our characters grow in unexpected ways. and new developments in their life outside of Lander affects their whole year. Kyle McCarley does a wonderful job reading and acting out every single character with their own distinct voices and personalities coming through amazingly.
Long time reader who doesn't actually time to sit down with physical books these days... :'(
always love the Drew's books! Kyle is a master at bringing them to life.
I recommend Dreq to anyone that loves this genre.
The author is a bit heavy handed with the "he replied" and "she said" which can make parts of a group conversation a bit of marathon. I respect unabridged is as described but when the narrator goes into easy to follow characters it's tedious. I still absolutely loved it. I also really value that its not the typical 10.5 hour audiobook so you can really get into the story.
Fight scenes can drag a bit at times but thats more of a personal opinion. I am also frustrated with the ongoing cliffhangers that were started in Book 1 with the fantasy answers were coming in Book 2. Then again that's what will likely keep me interested.
I accidentally started with Corpies which lead me to year 1. By the end I was searching for year 2 weeks before it's release. I can't wait until 3 arrives.
Your Boswell. Succinct, but accurate.
This series should be predictable, derivative and, at best, an entertainment. What it actually is, I posit to you, is nothing short of revelatory.
I'm not sure who the story is meant for. It moves like a young teen story, it has lots of exposition like a young teen story but it has language and some content that absolutely isn't young teen. Despite these failings, but because of the clear world-view and pace of storytelling the book and its predecessor have found a place in my library. They are not challenging at all but are entertaining enough to listen through to the end with no regrets about the purchase.
"just pure fun,but that's never been a bad thing."
my favourite part of the book and the series as a whole is the interactions between the characters. From the Melbrook students to dean Blaine and professor Pendleton, all the interaction's are either funny or help flesh out the characters.
more often than not the book made me laugh which helped me to certainly relate to the characters involved
I've listened to this book twice in a month considering the length and that i also have listened to other books aswell as actually READING the next two books in the series, that should say a lot about my opinions sbout my opinion on this book
"Gets better and better"
This story continues to build on year one and gets better and better as the book goes on. Really pleased the book 3 came out this week have already purchased this just about to start it now the narrator seems to improve in and starting to really enjoy it
"absolutely brilliant. better than year one!"
I loved it. finished it in like 3 days, being 32 hours long, as you can imagine it caused me to put my life on hold!
"Super Good Sequel "
While the first book in the series failed a bit in the writing this picks up and continuing expanding the excellent plot and engaging gallery of protagonists.
I'm not a big fan of "Superheroes" in general, I'm however a great fan of "realistic" superpowered heroes, like the X-men movies (not the comics) and similar. This series really scratch that itch and some. I really look forward to dive into the next one!
"Better than first and that's saying something"
Simply one of the best super stories ever, period!
Sitting on my hands till the 23/08
"Can't wait for the next one"
Great book albeit slight irritating delivery in the way they identify who's talking. the storyline is so engaging though that this was not more than a minor irritation.
