Georgina Kincaid has been a bad, bad succubus, which should be a good thing. But lately, thanks to her foul mood over breaking up with best-selling writer Seth Mortensen, she's been so wicked that Seattle's uber-demon Jerome, decides to "outsource" Georgina to a rival--and have her spy for him in the process.
Being exiled to the frozen north--okay, Vancouver--and leaving Seth in the cozy clutches of his new girlfriend is unpleasant enough. Then Jerome is kidnapped, and all immortals under his control mysteriously lose their powers. One bright spot: with her life-sucking ability gone, there's nothing to keep Georgina from getting down and dirty with Seth--nothing apart from his girlfriend that is. Now, as the supernatural population starts turning on itself, a newly mortal Georgina must rescue her boss and figure out who's been playing them--or all hell will break loose.

Speculative Fiction Book Review Blogger
I can't empathize enough on how outstanding this entire series is and it's also an absolute must read in my books but this particular installment really wowed me. It quite possibly might be my favourite one yet. However, I seem to say that every time I review one of the Georgina Kincaid novels so it's hard to say for sure. What is clear is the fact that if you haven't given this series a try yet then you're missing out! Plus, narrator Elisabeth Rodgers really gives these stories an extra boost. For me, she's become the official voice of Georgie.
I have to start off by saying that I absolutely adored the plot line of this book! Georgina has been a bad succubus and, as a result, has been shipped off to Vancouver to deal with the "evil satanist Canadians". It's so rare to find a Canadian local in paranormal fiction that when it does happen I can't help but get a little giddy. I disagree with my fellow canucks being portrayed as wicked but then again that's what makes this story so hilarious. However, this is only a small part of what this book is really all about. Conspiracies, betrayal and second chances are just a few of the things that you can expect to find in this installment. Richelle Mead has outdone herself with this one!
Georgina and her crew of supernatural misfits find themselves temporarily stripped of their powers. This opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for the characters in this series. The vampires loved it because they're finally able to work on their tan but Kincaid... not so much. At least at first. This is the most vulnerable that I've ever seen her. She's normally a balls-to-the-wall type of girl but in this installment she's afraid of everything. Before the reasons and limitations of her succubus mojo is explained she has no idea what's going on. Is she mortal? Can she get pregnant? Is she free of her contract with Hell? Georgie has been invincible for millenia and then all of a sudden she's afraid to go outside, to cross the road, to smoke a cigarette, etc. It was interesting to watch a powerful succubus become scared of her own shadow.
After Succubus Dreams I thought that Seth was a thing of the past. Even though I was sad with how their relationship played out I was also excited about seeing Georgina move on with her life. This book doesn't make everything better but it does provide some temporary relief where Mortensen is concerned. I don't want to give too much of their story away because it's a good one but Mead does a great job of finding a temporary solution to their problems. Although, the ending was like a slap in the face; adding insult to injury so to speak. I'm so frustrated with Richelle right now! But then again, I guess that's what keeps me coming back for more.
I can't wait to see what's in store for Georgina Kincaid in Succubus Shadows. In case I wasn't clear in my review: I love this book, I love this series and you NEED to read all things Georgie!
Finding out more about Demon territories and their workings
Reapprearence of Roman! yay
The mystery: Where, why and how the hell Jerome went missing
Georgina and gang without the immortal powers
Georgina how can you not see the traitor who is RIGHT in front of you!
The Climax was just a bit too rushed....
I like the fact that Seth's character got more "human" than the goody-goody too good to be true guy in this book. From the first book, I have been wondering if there is more to Seth than which meets the eye. I wonder if he's like a reincarnation of Georgina's first husband or any/all of her good mortal loves in the past.
I started this series thinking it was enjoyable but each book has drawn me in more and more and I'm now hooked. The characters are growing in complexity and I like that nothing is totally good or bad. I can't wait for my next credit, I'm forking over money for this one. The narrator is excellent.
Reviewing Romance & Urban Fantasy
Georgina is in a pissy mood over her love life and her boss Jerome has loaned Georgina’s Succubus talents to the Vancouver demon, Cedric to help put a stop to a local group of satanist Canadians. If that’s not weird enough (I mean come on satanist Canadians?!) Georgina and her group of supe friends in Seattle have been stripped of their powers after Jerome goes missing.
Georgina has her hands full with the group in Canada and trying to find out who took Jerome. Now she has to do it without her powers. Then she realizes that if she doesn’t have her succubus powers then she can sleep with a man without taking part of his life in return. Que thoughts of sex with Seth, her ex-human boyfriend.
Georgina is all over the place emotionally in Succubus Heat. She tries to get over Seth since their break up so she throws herself into her succubus duties and sleeps with many men. She’s picked up smoking again. But when she looses her powers of healing she stops the sleeping around and smoking not knowing how long this new development will last. Is she human know? Can she die? Can she finally be with Seth? To find out the answers to all the questions you’re just going to have to pick up this series. I promise you won’t be sorry. It’s fun with sexy and action thrown into the mix.
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
I would listen to this entire series again...I love Georgina and the gang...this series is supernatural genius...I love the world that Mead has created...its very believable!
Georgina as always! She is awesome!
She is the best Georgina possible....I couldn't imagine her any other way!
When the gang took care of Georgina after her attack...they are a family!
I love Georgina and am about to start #5....As I have said before I hope Georgina gets what she deserves...I want her to be happy, she deserves to be happy! Even though this was my least favorite of the series, I still liked it very much..and the ending of this one kinda broke my heart for Georgina just a little bit...I highly recommend this entire series!!!!
Oh no, please don't tell me there is only one more book in this series. It is SO good---excellent plot, really good writing and terrific narration. I know it's not heavy literature, but it's very involving and entertaining.
I won't spoil what happens for anyone, but suffice it to say, this is alternately funny and sad.
I want more Georgina and Seth. Only one more book.
You can't help but develop a fondness for the main charaters in this book. Great story.
The next book comes out in March. I can't wait!
Yes on both counts.
That is tough to say. I started out liking this series, and this book is not horrible. However, the male lead in the series has become a douchebag and I kind of want to slap the main characters.
I liked the interaction between Georgie and the farcial Satanic club. They were so silly.
I could see it as a series on Showtime, since it is pretty risque'. I could totally see Mila Kunis as Georgie.
