A great twist of reality and magic.
A Harry Pottery with adult content - if you will. Not too much to be a pornographic HBO series, but adult content with taste, some sex appeal, but not overdone. Enough magic to take you out of reality, yet still seem real. With descriptive words that bring the words right out of the book and into your imagination with clear vision. The book flows well and doesn't get dull. The readers voice is perfect for the character. If your into this sort of genre it will not disappoint!

Witty and entertaining
I liked this story well enough to move onto the next book in the series. Dresden is a likable enough guy and I am hoping the next books reveal more of what seems to be an interesting history.

I loved the story and loved the narrator. If you enjoy stories about wizards, magic, and other supernatural things you should like this.

On My Favorites List
Harry Dresden is Harry Potter for grown ups. The narrator's voice is well rounded- funny, smart, snarky and with enough intentional flaws and shortcomings to make him a believable character. Jim Butcher is an author that has inspired me for years.

Chicago's only open wizard
I've now read / listened a third time to this book. very interesting weave of magic, the supernatural and the real world. simply brilliant writing and a great narrator! Good entertainment that leaves you wanting more.

Enjoy the story
Good story
Lots of heavy breathing by narrator during reading Not sure if it was intentional but got a bit annoying. I started to focus too much on the breathing
