Best political philosphy book ever.

Very thought provoking
This book almost asks more questions than it answers as it explores societal structures and military doctrine on a sci-fi stage. I like that, as it has inspired me to read several research papers and analyze this book along side other military and history books I have read. I'm unfamiliar with this author's work, but I'm curious if there were several near self-insert characters the author used to bounce philosophy off of the young, impressionable protagonist. Given the era in which this book was written, I would not be surprised. The sci-fi is also very fun of that's just what you're looking for.

Political as well as military SciFi! Excellent!
The political evaluations by Heinlein are as astute as the military ones. Obviously not every scenario is addressed, but the broad strokes bear consideration.

Great book for the young Adult
This is such an incredible journey of a young man's struggle to achieve the prestige and honor to serve a greater cause. Written so well and relatable I have assigned it as required reading within my university classroom.

3.5 stars, amazona until first half, then becomes slow and void of content
Basically title, loved the first half, specially training.
Entertaining, lost of action, profound ideas about society and democracy, liked seeing the difference between the movie and the book.
Then it starts becoming so dull I believe the author had no idea or will to finish it and just kept on writing.
