On the Bounce
I grew up with this story and the philosophy. written and published around the time I was born, it influenced my life. now 63 years later, I still enjoy it. And having spent 20 years on the bounce myself, I still agree. with the message.

Absolutely brilliant look at mankind and war
How they made that movie from this book I will never know. The book is a thousand times better, and the movie just makes Heinlein look bad. My guess is the politics of rhis book, which is what it is really about, was to Libertarian of conservative for hollywood. The book is more of a profile of a young man growing up, and his thoughts through his experiences while serving his country and fellow humans. The book makes you think about how all the current liberal idealogies are ruining our politics and culture, and how a more logical and common sense non-PC culture would be superior to current trends.
I will be sending a copy to my kids to listen to while in college, as a fresh alternative veiwpoint to the brainwashing their Marxist professors are spewing.

All the Mobile Infantry
Ever play Star Craft? or Fallout? All movie, book, and games with powered armor in them have this story to thank. From company naming conventions to who fights in powered armor this story set the bar for all other stories. Great for thinking deeply about concepts that the story brings up. Would recommend to younger audiences post highschool.

Masterpiece...
I saw this movie in the late 90s and it was decent but hokey. The book on which the movie was based is a whole other story (pun intended). A timeless masterpiece from which many have begged, borrow and stolen...for the betterment of the sci-fi world.

The narrator isn't the greatest.
The narrator and sudden audio quality changes ruin things a bit. The narrator stumbles over words occasionally, which takes away from the otherwise amazing story.

A Favorite

an excellent story & narration, muffled recording
Putting aside how one feels about the universe of the book, it puts you in the mindset of Juan Rico. One hopes that the future won't turn out like this, cause most people won't see the cracks like we can.
while I think the narrator does an excellent job, the sound samples seem like he's speaking through a cardboard tube about 20% of the time. someone should fix that!
