"Crispin deftly weaves Han's early years into the Star Wars storyline and provides details that shape his personality. This prequel belongs in Star Wars collections." (Library Journal)
"This story...features a single narrator who mimics Harrison Ford as if he were younger, playing a young Han Solo with eerie authenticity. Sound effects and John Williams's stunning Star Wars music are used throughout to meticulous effect." (AudioFile)
The whole family loves Star Wars & this was something new. Kids didn't want it paused even for bathroom breaks. Enjoyable.
The book shows young Solo and lead us to his adventures. It's a phantastic book that will keep you reading until the end. Nice plot. The audible recording isn't that good as it's mono and the sound effects in the original are in full stereo.
I had no idea there was so much back story on Han. I felt this audio book would have been so much better if it were unabridged, still a very good book tho :-)
Glad we get to hear the Solo origin story. really gives some insight into his motivations, and explains his attitudes towards bounty hunters, slave traders, and the imperials.
Dad introduced me to science fiction @ 5 yrs old, @ 42 I am now a full on zombie horror science fiction geek girl and proud of it !
This book was a real hoot to listen to. I am an original Star Wars fan from way back and loved immersing myself in the world of the rebel alliance and the evil empire. Han Solo really was my all time fav character from the Star Wars universe. This book was like getting a glimpse at how Han became the sarcastic, swashbuckling space smuggler he did. A little romance, lots of spade action, weird space creatures abound and of course that biting Han Solo wit! The narration was excellent and really cool sound effects turn an audiobook into a movie in your head!!
"FIVE STARS for Star Wars enthusiasts !"
I really enjoyed listening to the audio book. I found it light and simple on the mind to digest, and yet revealing a story of a very influential and powerful character in the Saga.
Paradis Snare tells a story of events before Han Solo joins the Imperial Navy and is an absolute must if you have not read this Star Wars novel or if you are stuck on which one to get next.
The narration is well presented with enthusiasm and a good understanding of the characters and the portrayal of the Star Wars universe. The story is so so, but the fact it is Han Solo makes it even more enjoyable.
I really enjoyed the audio book and do not regret the purchase !

When Han Solo meets the love of his life.
Not bad, but not exceptional.
Gripping cliff hanger.
