Publisher's summary

The era of the Old Republic is a dark and dangerous time, as Jedi Knights valiantly battle the Sith Lords and their ruthless armies. But the Sith have disturbing plans—and none more so than the fulfillment of Darth Scabrous’s fanatical dream, which is about to become nightmarish reality.

Unlike those other Jedi sidelined to the Agricultural Corps—young Jedi whose abilities have not proved up to snuff—Hestizo Trace possesses one extraordinary Force talent: a gift with plants. Suddenly her quiet existence among greenhouse and garden specimens is violently destroyed by the arrival of an emissary from Darth Scabrous. For the rare black orchid that she has nurtured and bonded with is the final ingredient in an ancient Sith formula that promises to grant Darth Scabrous his greatest desire.

But at the heart of the formula is a never-before-seen virus that’s worse than fatal—it doesn’t just kill, it transforms. Now the rotting, ravenous dead are rising, driven by a bloodthirsty hunger for all things living—and commanded by a Sith Master with an insatiable lust for power and the ultimate prize: immortality . . . no matter the cost.

“Brilliant . . . This book combines two of my favorite things on earth: the Star Wars universe and the undead.” (Tommy Wirkola, director of Dead Snow)

Meh

It's okay. The story is basically zombies star wars edition. It's by no means bad, but it didn't.'t pull me in at all.

Horrors of the Sith

Absolutely dreadful and full of suspense. Each time a character got infected, it was difficult not to wince. The gruesome details and descriptions were sometimes gut-wrenching, and the sound effects and narrations were on point. I loved the chapter transitions.

People don't give Red Harvest the praise it deserves. Wouldn't be the first time star wars nerds sperged about prequels they didn't like.

Below Average for a Star Wars book

If you liked "Death Troopers" you'll probably love this book, but below average compared most Star Wars books.

So different from anything Star Wars

If you like horror and gore this is for you. Red Harvest grabs you and then proceeds to blow your mind. I loved it and hope to have more like it.

Sith zombies

The pros: This book combines a zombie apocalypse and the Star Wars greatly. Though Death Troopers is a more superior novel. The narrator does a good job. I like how this audiobook twists the John Williams music to give the audio a more eerie vibe. Enjoyed each part where the zombies are in.
The drawbacks: All the Sith students are basically the same. This book does not connect to Death Troopers, though it’s supposed to be a prequel. Does not explain how the Empire got a hold the zombie virus or even how they discovered it in the first place.

Why is everyone hating!

I don’t understand why everyone has something negative to say about this book. You know when you go to listen that it’s a whore Star Wars book and that’s just what you get. It was a little gory for me actually but I thought it was scary in Star Wars and cool. Overall I really liked it
