Here is a special edition 20th anniversary release of the number-one New York Times best-selling novel that reignited the entire Star Wars publishing phenomenon - unabridged for the first time. The biggest event in the history of Star Wars books, Heir to the Empire follows the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia after they led the Rebel Alliance to victory in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
Five years after the Death Star was destroyed and Darth Vader and the Emperor were defeated, the galaxy is struggling to heal the wounds of war, Princess Leia and Han Solo are married and expecting twins, and Luke Skywalker has become the first in a long-awaited line of new Jedi Knights.
But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor’s warlords - the brilliant and deadly Grand Admiral Thrawn - has taken command of the shattered Imperial fleet, readied it for war, and pointed it at the fragile heart of the New Republic. For this dark warrior has made two vital discoveries that could destroy everything the courageous men and women of the Rebel Alliance fought so hard to create.
The explosive confrontation that results is a towering epic of action, invention, mystery, and spectacle on a galactic scale - in short, a story worthy of the name Star Wars.

Excellent and unabridged production makes you feel like it's from a movie. Superb vocal performance sounds like the original actors in many cases. Really amazing story told very well.
I've read the entire thrawn Trilogy, and I absolutely love it. I think that it is one of the best series in the Star Wars Universe. You will not be disappointed with either the performance or story.
Loved the story and the characters. The narration voices seemed to out for the female characters the imagine.
Overall loved knowing what happened after
" The Return of the Jedi".
Can't wait to hear the others in this trilogy. First time listening to to books on tape or audible.
The book plot was fantastic. A beautiful classic Star Wars novel. The audio for it was a uniquely delightful experience as well. Awesome narration, voices (especially C3-PO), music, background noses, sound effects even! I highly recommend this for anyone, especially if you have a long trip ahead of you.
Do you enjoy the sound effects of Star Wars? Have you made R2D2 sounds your phone notification? How about the sound of space flight? This book contains multiple chapters in which x-wing sound is continually playing I the background. That nice high pitch whine really brings out the over dramatic fight scenes. I should have just read the book.
next to the rogue squadron series and the solo trilogy, this is one of my favorite book series. loved the narrator, and it was fun.
