There can be no surrender.
There will be no mercy.
It’s not just the future of the galaxy at stake—
It’s the destiny of the Force.

In the stunning finale of the epic Fate of the Jedi series, Jedi and Sith face off—with Coruscant as their battlefield. For the Sith, it’s the chance to restore their dominance over the galaxy that forgot them for so long. For Abeloth, it’s a giant step in her quest to conquer all life everywhere. For Luke Skywalker, it’s a call to arms to eradicate the Sith and their monstrous new master once and for all.

In a planetwide strike, teams of Jedi Knights take the Sith infiltrators by swift and lethal surprise. But victory against the cunning and savage Abeloth, and the terrifying endgame she has planned, is anything but certain. And as Luke, Ben, Han, Leia, Jaina, Jag, and their allies close in, the devastating truth about the dark side incarnate will be exposed—and send shock waves through the Jedi Order, the galaxy, and the Force itself.

Does NOT disappoint!

Would you consider the audio edition of Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse to be better than the print version?

Hard to say, but Marc Thompson is the ultimate for Star Wars audiobooks.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Saba - simply because she's bad@$$!

Which character – as performed by Marc Thompson – was your favorite?

He does them all amazingly - there's no one I can pick over the rest.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No - it's Star Wars - and so well done.

Any additional comments?

Ever since Thompson started on the series, I've made it a point to listen to every book - even though I buy the print version too. HE makes the story come alive. I just wish he would go back and do them ALL - especially the previously abridged versions. They'd be worth owning then. Case-in-point: Heir to the Empire. I've read it countless times, but the previous audiobook was next to complete garbage; abridged and sounding terrible.

I had even said 'I wish Marc would re-do it.'. It was a dream come true and an instant BUY when it was released. His command of the voices and story, along with the superior production and effects would mean that ANY Star Wars story done by this crew would instantly be on my Wish List!

Great series but..

It's sad and unfortunate that because of Disney, the story will not continue, at least not in this time line.
I started reading these books while I was in the Marines, about 30 years ago. Its It's been like watching your family grow.
But now it's over. Although there will be new books to continue on the new time line, it will never be the same.
To all the Star Wars writers who have entertained me over the last three decades, thank you.
To all the characters I've "watched " grow and develop, come and go, you will be missed. Semper Fi!

A fitting end to a wonderful story..

What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse?

The most memorable moment has to be Luke meeting with the spirits of Jacen and his wife Mara. I only wish the visit would have gone on a bit longer, but the story had to progress to Abeloth and the final confrontation.

What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?

Marc Thomson is always a versitile narrator. His voices and character inflections are some of the best Ive ever had the pleasure of listening to.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The End is comming...

Any additional comments?

Overall the final book of this series was an excellent read. The story arcs of both Ben and Vestara kept me on edge to the very end, the eventual closing of the story left room for a Luke-Mara connection or a whole new adversary to combat. Allana as a character is growing in her own right and her beyond her years wisdom will make interesting planting ground for future books. Luke, Han, Leia always seem to survive the worst events in the star wars universe but I've noticed in this book a shift from the

Fantastic!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book does a GREAT job wrapping up the 9-book story, and was very difficult to put down! Highly recommend the entire series!

What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?

Marc Thompson has to be one of the most engaging narrators I've listened to - he does a terrific job with the various voices, to the point that you can clearly tell who the myriad characters are simply by the voice he's given them. He is among the best narrators out there, and Star Wars is fortunate to have gotten him for this series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Most definitely one of those books I wanted to listen to non-stop from start to finish!

This is Star Wars

Spoilers.

Apocalypse is the perfect name for this novel. All hell as broken loose. The GA is under the thumb of Aboloth and the Lost Tribe. Darkness looms over Coruscant. Sith of the Lost Tribe dwell in Jedi Temple. Aboloth controls the Galactic Alliance as Chief of State.
In this bleak time the Jedi come to action. Sneaking back into capital to reclaim the temple .
Wynn Dorvan is being held in the captured for information. In the scenes of Aboloth torturing him, he dishes out defiance in the real face of death or far worse. He was a far stronger character than I gave him credit for. Wynn Dorvin really evolved and grew on me throughout the series and he became another favorite.
Ben Skywalker with Vestara Kia (as well as dozens of other Jedi) retake the Senate from the Lost Tribe in a near clean sweep.
When The Luke Skywalker leads the assault to retake the Jedi Temple and rid the galaxy of evil is when this book “explodes” into existence. Hell breaks loose as the Jedi fight closer and closer to victory. No quarter is given or taken in this battle.
Queen Mother Tenel Ka and Allana play an excellent part in this novel as well. The roles and parts are too good to spoil.
While awaiting trail in the Empire Tahri Velia feels a disturbance in the Force. Finding one of Aboloth’s avatars is in The Empire, Tahri becomes the Emperor’s Hand under the strict leash of Head of State Jag Fel. When she discovers a wounded Boba Fett things take a turn for more interesting.
The chapters where Rynar Thul, Lowbacca, Tekli, and 3PO go back to the Kiliks for help is possibly my favorite scenes in Star Wars. Rynar’s horrifying selfless choice was perfect. (Thank you for wrapping his fate up from this event before everything was rebooted).
Saba’s Never Ending Hunt is chilling. While always a compassionate yet brutal hunter, when her Clan is threatened we truly see her loyalty. She is definitely one of my favorite characters. It’s sad she’s last seen in this novel.
Now Jaina. Her role as Sword of the Jedi is written with perfection. She is the ultimate Jedi. After a lifetime of training, Master was a title Jaina Solo had earned and needed.
Then there is Luke, Ben, Vestara, Darth Krayt, and Aboloth. The ending of this novel is well...apocalyptic.
Fate of the Jedi is in my opinion the best ending to Star Wars. (Mercy Kill and Crucible are great but nothing like this.)
The EU may be over but it lives on in the hearts of its fans. From Dawn of the Jedi set millennia before Yavin, to Splinter of Minds Eye to the Legacy comics set 130 years ABY. Long live the EU. May The Force Be With You.

loved listening to this. The reference back to the clone wars was awesome. The author did a great job connected it. As always Mark Thompson is amazing at narrating the story.

A must listen to for any Star Wars fan

I don't know what is better about this book - the writing or the voice acting by Marc Thompson. Marc Thompson always brings an A+ effort, not only changing his voice to reflect the character that is talking but the known characters (Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, etc) and are always consistent & sound great for those none regular cast (Allana, Tenel Ka, Sith characters, Ves).
Highly recommend this entire series - plus it's the whole unabridged book.
