Good Trilogy
If you could sum up Star Wars: Dark Force Rising in three words, what would they be?
Classic Star Wars!
What did you like best about this story?
As a Star Wars fan I've read quite a few Star Wars books. Timothy Zahn is by far one of the best Star Wars authors. He stays true to the characters and always has a good story line that keeps you guessing. This trilogy is just such one.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Incredible, better in every way than the first book
I first read this trilogy 20 years ago, and while I enjoyed coming back to listen to the first book, it wasn’t QUITE as good as I had remembered. This second book, however, was the phenomenal. Timothy Zahn just GETS Star Wars. So many cool destinations. aliens, and stories you care about tying it all together. Everything just felt authentic, existing characters acted believably, and new and interesting characters expanded the story. LOVED it!
The book switches often between multiple perspectives, and I’m used to only being interested in one or two and waiting to back to the “interesting subplot”. Not so here. Every subplot had me wanting more, and each kept me hooked the whole way.
The narration was also excellent! Marc Thompson seemed to improve on all of his unique character voices over time (especially since the first novel). The sound effects, and ESPECIALLY the music, just make the whole production so dramatic and theatrical. I’m hoping I can find other Star Wars novels with this level of narration and care for the source material! Highly recommend!

Best Staw Wars book I've ever read
narration excellent, characters excellent, this trilogy without a doubt is my favorite star wars story, and this is my favorite book. so many twist and turns. Thrawn is a perfect villain. And really pushes the narrative forward.

Takes me back
Loved this book! This series is MUST read for Star War Fans, old and young. I watched the original trilogy in the 1980s and the story jumps into the lingo and characters smoothly with similar humor and idiosyncrasies of main characters. The author is spot on! Thank you!!! Also, the audiobook speaker is great, with verbal inflections that really made me smile. Thank you!!! I recommend book 1 (awesome!) which grabbed my interest immediately. Next, for me, i am looking forward to read book 3, last in series!!!

Thrawn Trilogy is real story
This actually the second time listening to Dark Force Rising. You will picture the heroes from original Star Wars trilogy listening to the writer through one of the better voices (deserves name mentioned but I'll probably mess up if exit review). Do you like Star Wars books? Grand Admiral Thrawn will not disappoint wherever whatever he's in

Better story than what Disney put out by far. Much more realistic as to what would really have occurred after Return of the Jedi.
