Geniunely an excellent Audiobook experience

An incredibly well done and descriptive story, lots of great in-universe references and use of suspense and mystery. It never overplays its hand or breaks the tension, but lets it build and build until all hell breaks loose. The characters have great interplay with each other, and I really never knew where it was going next. Use of sound effects and music was also incredibly well done, despite a few times where it felt a little out of place, it genuinely took the experience to the next level. Blaster fire and screams mixing with the frantic narration and music all coming together into one crescendo of chaos is something that I cannot praise enough, and it makes me wish more Audiobooks went to this extra level. Reccomend for any Star Wars fan, and for anyone whos a fan of zombie/horror stories, but at least casual investment in the Star Wars franchise is required for the full experience.

Han and Chewie's reveal was done amazingly, and they add a lot to the story, they're written exactly how you'd expect and they are so fun to follow.
The only flaw, and it wasn't really even a flaw it just took me COMPLETELY off guard, is when they referenced Chewie's family and Life Day. You know, from the accursed holiday special (if you don't know what I'm talking about look up "Star Wars Holiday Special" on Youtube, Jontron does a pretty good breakdown). I don't exactly know how I feel about that, but it was definitely surprising. I didn't think George would let anything that had license to unironically use his work mention that thing, ever.

Always been a fan of Star Wars horror

I remember long ago when someone uploaded this to YouTube and I would listen to it. I always thought the sound effects were added for affect on YouTube but after listening to a snippet of this and hearing the same sound effects, I used my token. This is a great read for those who enjoy suspenseful horror and Star Wars and want that perfect blend

did not disappoint

excellent Star wars novel and production! was a little on the fence at first with it but it quickly grew on me. it had me wanting to listen after I got off of work but sometimes unable to some parts got me a little tents. highly recommend

Book equivalent of a B List movie

Okay so this isn’t a bad book and I don’t regret my time spent on it but this is a hard review lol. The performance was fantastic, each character felt totally unique and voiced beautifully. Some of the sound effects were kinda lame but I appreciate the fact that it was there. The story was pretty weak in some places but I sort of expected that going in. Definitely a creepy experience and definitely one of the most interesting Star Wars books I’ve listened to.

An odd yet satisfyingly mixture

I have been a fan of both star wars and horror for many years and didn't think that the two styles could be mixed so well. The story was so compelling that I couldn't stop listening to it. the performance of it was greatly done. The howling screams really pulled me into each word and I just had to keep listening to know what was to come

My favorite Star Wars book!

This is easily my all time favorite Star Wars book. It combines horror and Star Wars. If any book would get a movie deal it would be this one as it can easily be a Star Wars Story.

love it. it is definitely a thriller of a story. don't listen as you try to go to bed. too creepy for that. lol

Dead Space meets Star Wars.

Much like the Dead Money DLC for Fallout: New Vegas, Death Troopers is an amazing horror story found in a franchise that never had a dalliance with the genre.

The Audiobook does an amazing job with the sound effects, the introductions to each chapter and even the beginning John Williams intro being cut off short to set the tone of the tale. The voice acting here is on par with the Darth Plagious production and makes me wish we had an full cast for this much like the Aliens productions here on Audible.

If you like horror stories in your Star Wars, along with a duo of surprise cameos that serve as a safety blanket for the dark horror, this is a purchase I highly recommend.

Perfect for a long drive!

An entertaining one-shot from a galaxy far far away. Excellently acted with great sound design. This book is more on an audio-drama that a reading, which was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

While predictable and a little simple at times, I still greatly enjoyed the story. A worthy purchase to help you along any too-long road trip.

Incredible Story and Listening Experience

I couldn't stop listening to this story. Definitely peaked my interest and kept me wanting more. The reading performance was top notch, with perfect voice inflections and added sound effects. 10/10!
