On the technological, decadent world of Proton, someone was trying to destroy Stile, serf and master Gamesman. His only escape lay in Phaze, a world totally ruled by magic. Soon he learned that his alternate self had already been murdered, and that he was next. On Proton, his fate depended on winning the great Games. On Phaze, he must master magic to survive. Reseñas de la Crítica

"To solve his own demise, Stiles must travel between the two realities, each abounding with the expected confusions and unexpected plot twists for which Anthony is famous. An artful blending of SF and fantasy clichés and situations, Split Infinity shows Piers Anthony at the top of his ingenious game(s)." (Amazon.com review)

Years and years ago, our family tumbled into the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. We anticipated each entry into the series, reading aloud as a family group and quoting the puns for months, even years after. Time passed; the books passed from children to grandchildren and my husband and I, now great-grandparents, fell prey to cataracts and all the other travesties of old age. Enter Audible and three years of catching up on old favorite stories. Sadly, the Xanth novels have not yet made the transition to audio ... but what was this? Another series by Piers? Surely this would measure up to our expectations. And it has ... in spades. Split Infinity hooked us from the very beginning and as the story unfolded we reveled in the author's skill weaving words. The narrator, Traber Burns, speaks clearly, distinctly and at an even volume. We despise books where we are constantly required to adjust the volume. Best of all, this narrator does NOT mispronounce words. Nothing tears a listener out of the story flow more than a mispronounced word. Also, Mr. Burns does not 'act' the narration. He demonstrates character changes with perfect inflection. This combination of author and narrator makes Split Infinity a pure joy to hear. We look forward to hearing the rest of the series. We highly recommend this book.

this was a great memory. ive read the books in this series probably 5 times over the years. The guus voice dosen't try to make characters with falsetto or anything and im glad bexause he sounds like a young Clint Eastwood and the actor from Hart to Hart. sometimes it is just flat but its great to hear.
Overall, its good and ill get the rest of the series.

awesome book back in the day.

Piers Anthony has such a wonderful talent to mix the life of fantasy and science fiction together. He doesn't just bring you dragon's and magic, he brings you robots and virtual intelligence, self willed machines. The mix is riveting. He blends the 2 perfectly to foolrm a story you can listen to till you grow old. Warning if you get this book, you will get the rest in the series!

Best Sci Fi/Fantasy mix that's ever been written.

Would you try another book from Piers Anthony and/or Traber Burns?

Traber Burns is Not the most Monotone Reader that I have listened to, but sadly he does NOT bring the story to life

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Traber Burns?

YES

Any additional comments?

I read this story in my TEENs and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oliver Wyman or Dick Hill or Scott Brick or Jim Dale would have been great readers.

This guy is NOT AS BAD as Michael PRITCHARD but is close. SAD!!!!

Great Story -Only Mediocre Reader

Loved this as a kid an the audiobook is just as good.
Narration was okay but could have been better.

Not for the younger readers but still a good clean teen story.
Population of the planet are nude and interact casually.

As good as I remembered
