Publisher's summary

In the aftermath of his terrible war, Ender Wiggin disappeared, and a powerful voice arose: the Speaker for the Dead, who told the true story of the Bugger War. Now, long years later, a second alien race has been discovered by Portuguese colonists on the planet Lusitania. But again the aliens' ways are strange and frightening...again, humans die. And it is only the Speaker for the Dead, who is also Ender Wiggin the Xenocide, who has the courage to confront the mystery...and the truth. Orson Scott Card infuses this tale with intellect by casting his characters in social, religious, and cultural contexts.

This, the author's definitive edition of the sequel to Ender's Game, also includes an original postscript written and recorded by the author himself, Orson Scott Card!.

"The most powerful work Card has produced. Speaker not only completes Ender's Game, it transcends it." (Fantasy Review)

Fantastic!

I would say that Speaker for the Dead is by far better then Ender's Game and that is saying something, because Ender's Game is a truly great book. I would say my only small gripe is that I had some trouble distinguishing characters voices with one of the voice actors.

Fantastic

Suspenseful but yet still awesome like Enders Game. It ramps up and leaves you guessing. I loved it.

Great reproduction

A well-done reproduction of a great book. The narration was wonderful and faithful to the spirit of the book. My biggest complaint is with the producers. What is up with the random "musical" interjections? I think the intent was to provide gravitas to important/emotional moments, but it is just distracting. First of all, the musical clips they use aren't very good. Second, when inserted at a really emotional part, they detract from the performances of the narrators who are more than capable of delivering a strong enough performance on their own. It doesn't ruin the book for me, but it is disappointing.

Incredible story and well read by the narrators

Orson Scott Card has said that this is the true book he wanted to write and Enders Game only came about to help set up for this book. One of my favorite books I’ve ever read, im very impressed with everything about this. Liked it better than Enders Game

Incredible book, frustrating performance

I love this story so much. I really wish the narrators had had SOME training on how to pronounce Portuguese words. It is very distracting and frustrating.

It made me really think.

I love this book and thinks it deserves a second reading. I also think that the perspective changes in this book really makes it what it is and other people don’t see To really think about that or to care for the fact. I think this was an excellent story and I suggested to anyone who likes enders game. Honestly I think this was better than the first.

Excellent

The first book was really mind-blowing, and this one was too, but in a different way. Card is a great author.

The audiobook performance was also great, using different actors for different character narrations, and I felt like they were all really good.

Excellent Followon To Enders Game

Story was great and the narrators did an exceent job but with the amount of bass in some voices it made it difficult to listen to while driving.
