Publisher's summary

In the aftermath of his terrible war, Ender Wiggin disappeared, and a powerful voice arose: the Speaker for the Dead, who told the true story of the Bugger War. Now, long years later, a second alien race has been discovered by Portuguese colonists on the planet Lusitania. But again the aliens' ways are strange and frightening...again, humans die. And it is only the Speaker for the Dead, who is also Ender Wiggin the Xenocide, who has the courage to confront the mystery...and the truth. Orson Scott Card infuses this tale with intellect by casting his characters in social, religious, and cultural contexts.

This, the author's definitive edition of the sequel to Ender's Game, also includes an original postscript written and recorded by the author himself, Orson Scott Card!.

Life changing

This book has shown me to look at people in another light. To love them for who they are and to keep an open mind when making assumptions about who they are.

A bit of a bummer

I would think that a Portuguese speaker or someone who can pronounces Portuguese would read a book which has so much of it in it.
Major problem.
Other then that the book is great and the narrators doing a great job.

A solid book by itself

Speaker for the Dead is a good book that can stand apart from Enders Game. though some valuable insight is to be hand from the latter book.
personal suggestion is to listen to Enders Game, the Shadow series, and then Speaker for the Dead and it's series. the way Card wraps each book together leaves you with a nice package topped by a bow.

Now I know that Ender's Game is just a preamble to the real prize of Orson Scott Card's writing

great book, bad reading.

Loved the book and story. definitely a must read after Enders Game. I hate the random music bits the pop up randomly in the preformance and the inconsistent reading from the multiple narrators.

Just read it, it is really good

It is both a perfect sequel to Ender’s game and an important story in it’s own right. One of my favorite books, really.

Better than Ender's Game

This book is not the same kind of read as Ender's game, but it is much more thoughtful, well planned and deals with large ideas about finding alien races and and strange worlds. great setup for the next book Xenocide as well.

great story, to continue Ender's game

really well written story about Ender and what was next in his life and how we should be with others that are different. Knowing them is important to makes the proper judgment on their life is a great importance.

A Real story

Ender's Game was just an appetizer.
The substance of all meaningful stories is found pure.
