Publisher's summary

Only once in a great while does a writer come along who defies comparison - a writer so original he redefines the way we look at the world. Neal Stephenson is such a writer and Snow Crash is such a novel, weaving virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility to bring us the gigathriller of the information age.

In reality, Hiro Protagonist delivers pizza for Uncle Enzo's CosaNostra Pizza Inc., but in the Metaverse he's a warrior prince. Plunging headlong into the enigma of a new computer virus that's striking down hackers everywhere, he races along the neon-lit streets on a search-and-destroy mission for the shadowy virtual villain threatening to bring about Infocalypse. Snow Crash is a mind-altering romp through a future America so bizarre, so outrageous...you'll recognize it immediately.

Stephenson really is a creative genius.

If you could sum up Snow Crash in three words, what would they be?

Thought-provoking, creative, fun

What did you like best about this story?

A good mix of mystery and SF.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A wild ride in a small boat fighting pernicious enemy.

A fun story

What did you like best about Snow Crash? What did you like least?

I liked that his dystopian future was less dire and dark than others. It almost seemed fun until you really thought about it. The quick ending was not my favorite.

What about Jonathan Davis’s performance did you like?

Jonathan Davis did a nice job.

Any additional comments?

A fun book for scifi people or fans of The Matrix.

cool but cheesy

this novel had really great content but parts of it were cheesy. maybe it was just indicative of the year it was written but it did not hold up well for 2016

The Importance of the Individual

Very interesting backing concept. the future workings of corporations versus importance of government is quite poignant. At one point the US President shows up and no one knows who he is!

great story and good performance

Like his other works, this is an interesting juxtaposition of religion, technology, and economics. I really enjoyed it, and will probably do so again.

What is up with the awful sound effects?

Please just leave me in peace to enjoy my Neal Stephenson. Fun book except too obviously designed to become a movie.

Sci-fi Bliss!

Excellent writing. The author shared a fascinating vision of the future. The plot was exciting and never dull. Jonathan Davis's narration was superb. I especially enjoyed his tone when he was reading from the point of view of "the rat thing."

What did you like best about this story?

The way the author predicted so many things about the future if communications via a story 20+ years ago. It was detailed and fun. I ran through 17 hours in just a couple work days.
