Publisher's summary

Heralded author Jaye Wells has staked out a treasured place on readers’ shelves with her breathtaking tales of urban fantasy. Silver-Tongued Devil features Wells’ popular creation, heroine Sabina Kane: outcast, assassin, and magnet to supernatural species.

When a string of murders threatens to stall negotiations between the mages and vampires, Sabina leaps into the fray. But the more she learns, the more she realizes that there are dark forces stirring. And the killer in her sights might be more than capable of shutting her down - for good.

Great series

I have been listening to one after another for days. Love Sabina. Adam is great but the demon Mr. Giggles is phenomenal.

VERY GOOD CONTINUATION.

Jayne Wells did it again. The Sabina Kane series is fantastic. The action and witty dialogue kept me engrossed throughout. The romance between Sabina and Adam is developing well. I like Gigul (not sure about the spelling). I hope he will get his happy ending. Looking forward to book five.

Loved it

I simply love this series. Who doesn't love edgy violence with a whole lot of sarcasm lol I hope it doesn't end too soon. I am enjoying the ride.

An ok addition to the series

While I enjoyed this installment, I found that it lakes the action and intensity of the first three books in the fisrst half.

A good story and series progression

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, although it would be best to start with book one for continuity
It is a good stand alone story with many interesting characters

Who was your favorite character and why?

I always like Sabina as she has the internal struggles to deal with

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

As usual Holloway mispronounces away but it seems to be a bit less here.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Tragedy and triumph in equal measure

Book 3 Good but Lacking

Book 3 made me sad and confused. It was lacking from beginning to end. The fracture in Sabina and Adam’s relationship due to her “affair” with Slade made no sense to me. How can Adam be upset with her for sleeping with someone else before their relationship ever began?!? Then Slade just disappears in this novel after sleeping with Alexis. The sad part is Mazy who is vilified throughout the entire novel from beginning to end. I wanted to see the twins fight together and that opportunity never emerged leaving their story line unfilled.

Very Enjoyable

I think this is the best book in the series so far. It is full of "edge of your seat action" and leaves you wanting more.I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Cynthia Holloway has done another great job of bringing the characters alive and making them believable. Overall a very good read/listen.

My favorite of the series!

*Tried to make this as spoiler free as possible, but you should at least be up to date with the series*

Silver-Tongued Devil was action packed through and through. It had me on the seat of my pants the whole way. As a matter of fact, Christen from Goldilox and the Three Weres was hounding me and Jennifer from The Book Nympho to hurry up and finish this book. She was dying to talk to someone about this read-a-long installment. LOL!

Every time I thought “shit hit the fan” or had a jaw dropped moment, there was more…and then more…and then more. So much happened in this book, so many surprises that this is by FAR my favorite book of the series.

Sabina is in a great place in her life, for the first time. Sabina and Adam’s relationship has flourished and they’re doing great. I’m happy for them, but I have to say that I feel like I missed something there. All of the sudden they are head over heels in LOVE! This is great by the way, but I wish I was able to see more of their love developing, how they came to living together, etc.

Relationships are tested over and over in this one. Sabina and Adam have a VERY bumpy ride in this book, as well as Sabina and Maisie, Giguhl and PW (Pussy Willow), Georgia and Mac, the list goes on. Maisie is still struggling to come to terms with what happened in New Orleans. She’s not the same person and likely will never be.

STD (hehe) had sex, murder, mystery, love and fighting. There was roller derby, Pussy Willow, sadness, defeat and victory. This book had me all over the map and yelling out things like ”I knew it” and “Oh $hit”. I don’t want to spoil it all as I will be discussing more in my read a long post but this is a MUST READ in the series. I can’t wait to see how it all ends!

Never seen a character make EVERY wrong decision

Mind-blowing. Sabina literally makes every wrong decision possible. Her repeated failure to EVER even THINK about using her magic is a constant Deus Ex like plot device.

It's like every time she *should* think to draw on her magic, the Ms. Wells makes sure Sabina avoids thinking about it. Sabina avoids thinking about magic so hard that it's like a gaping, empty silence - one which is so complete as to scream as loud as a jet engine from 5 feet away. This improbably-frequent emptiness of thought trumpets to the world, "I am the dumbest, most obstinate, and obtuse character EVER! I have failed to learn anything over 4 books and continue to choose the absolute worst - and same - decision EVERY time so that I can advance the plot!"

I love Prospero's War. I liked the first 2 books of this series. But the last book and this one (books 3 and 4) are just terrible.
