Publisher's summary

Ender's Shadow explores the stars in this all-new novel...

At the end of Shadow of the Giant, Bean flees to the stars with three of his children—the three who share the engineered genes that gave him both hyper-intelligence and a short, cruel physical life. The time dilation granted by the speed of their travel gives Earth's scientists generations to seek a cure, to no avail. In time, they are forgotten—a fading ansible signal speaking of events lost to Earth's history. But the Delphikis are about to make a discovery that will let them save themselves, and perhaps all of humanity in days to come.

For there in space before them lies a derelict Formic colony ship. Aboard it, they will find both death and wonders—the life support that is failing on their own ship, room to grow, and labs in which to explore their own genetic anomaly and the mysterious disease that killed the ship's colony.

Shadows in Flight is the fifth novel in Orson Scott Card's Shadow Series.

Did it again!

I never want this series to end. Some say they cannot get in to the series after Enders game. I for one am in love. Card does an exemplary job of fitting ethical, emotional, philosophical qualms into every piece he writes. Definitely not for the superficial. But deep thinkers will fall in love. Oh and Stefan Rudnicki’s voice is exceedingly comforting and demanding at the same time

Love the enderverse

Audio is the way to go in the Ender series. It's been a great way to pass the driving time and makes me wonder and imagine what's going to happen next

I can't get enough.

Too Short

This all could have been a prologue to or a part of another book. It is an awesome book but way way to short.

Not what I expected, But worth the read!

What did you like best about this story?

I like any story with Bean in it. To be honest, I was really hoping that this was the tie-together story for the Ender series and the Shadow series, but there is a commentary at the end that explains what happened there. Shadows in Flight really feels more like a novella than a novel, but I think that it's an important piece in the over-all story. This is also the only one of the stories that is actually about

Any additional comments?

The performance was excellent as usual.

Too short

I love this story of Bean's children and the end of his life, but the book ended too soon, too soon. I wanted to experience more of Bean's life, more of his children's lives. It is hard to wait for the next book in the series, Shadows Alive.
