I just couldn't put it down
The plots and twists are masterfully executed leaving even the veteran reader in dark as to how they will play out. This one is better than the first in the series, and I can't wait to continue the journey!
I perfered running the audiobook at 1.25%-1.5% speed, as the normal reading speed was a bit slow for my taste. Other than that, the narrator managed to bring the characters to life with believable voices, and he gave the story a captivating mood through both pitch, intonation and intensity.

Amazing!!!
The first book(omnibus) was a pretty good start to the series. It had a weak beginning in my opinion but got much better as you entered the second main storyline. This one is different. Both of the main storylines of Rise of Empire were really good and the characters, new and old, were fantastic! If not for a personal preference in having little interest in sea quests, it would have been perfect, but even those parts of the book were very well done. The narration is top notch and Tim Gerard Reynalds has quickly become one of my top 3 narrators so far. I highly recommend this book and look forward to continuing the 3rd omnibus in the series.

Digging Deeper into Elan
Sullivan continues his careful tale, rich in characters and intrigue. Mysteries abound and questions now demand answers. What once seemed clear, now is questioned. Follow Royce and Hadrian on another adventure full of fun banter and snarkiness, but also challenges. It's another fantastic read from Sullivan!
