Fantastic Series. I love the Rayira Series.

This has become one of my favorite series with only the Red Rising series being slightly ahead. This series is well written, deeply thought out, and the characters are so well defined that you will understand them as well as your own family. I will be greatly disappointed when I reach the end of the books. If you like fantasy you should love this series.

Good story hobbled by the narrator.

Once again I found this fun, interesting story set in an engaging world with interesting characters and conflicts to be undone by the narrator.

Rare instance of 2nd volume better than 1st

This trilogy was my first done into Riyria. I find myself looking the characters and world more and more. Also the wealth of CORRECT knowledge of this writer and their sharing of logic and insights on description of fighting and camping and weather is good, even educational. in volume two the knowledgeable incidental subject matter extends to sailing and climbing, and expand warrior mentality. I also like how this writer handles magic and various races.

Midshipman Wesley!

Just wonderful. This is the 6th Riyria book I've read (I started with the pre-quel Chronicles 1-4 against the authors advice, Im a rebel dottie) and they are addictive and fantastic. I really wish I could say more that I haven't already or come up with something inventive.

The only real praise other than pure adoration I can come up with is that this work in particular takes one of the skills that Mr Sullivan has, and turns it up to 11. And that is, side characters, "minor" characters. *There are no throw-away characters in any of his books*. I would like 3-book series for about... 18 of his characters now.

At one point, there is a sailing ship. For most writers, the ship arises as a literal vehicle only to provide a plot vehicle to get the characters from point a to b. you might get a name for a captain, and a random trait like "smokes a pipe", and thats about it. Well every crew member from cook's assistant to the captain had a story of how they got there, reasons to be on the ship, goals they wanted to achieve, opinions on other crew members, and they change as they see and react to their situation and events. they all are "alive", every member of the crew.

The book was bonkers good.

I need a Senior Midshipman Wesley t-shirt ASAP

Loved it.

Sometimes, sequels don't add up to the first of the series. In the case of Mr. Sullivan's "Riyria Revelations", this not so. Volume 2 is just as exciting as is the first volume. The characters are fully fleshed out by now and each has his or her own path in this volume culminating in a great ending. As with the first volume, I look forward to volume 3 and expect an equally exciting story by a great story teller.
