Publisher's summary

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In The Path of Daggers, the eighth novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al'Thor engages in battle wearing the Crown of Swords and wielding Callandor against a force unprepared for the wrath of the Dragon Reborn.

The Seanchan invaders are heading for Illian—and Rand's army of Asha'man soldiers. When they meet in battle, some of the Asha'man are afflicted by madness, unable to control their channeling and unleashing raw power.

The madness extends to Rand himself. He has been hearing the voice of a man believed to have been the previous Dragon Reborn. Besieged by visions and debilitated whenever he uses the One Power, Rand chooses to attack the Seanchan with Callandor. The sword consumes him with a berserker rage, felling ally and enemy alike. And when he regains his senses, Rand finds himself less trusted by those who were once the most loyal.

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

the best of the best

You are reading the best epic fantasy series there is. period. It may take a while to get into it but you will. There are 2600 plus characters but don't get scared teenagers read this every day. You will know these peoples as "friends" and "enemies" and like your own family. Read by the dynamic duo of recitation kate reading and michael kramer... they pull it all together .. I switch genres just to listen to them... It [the series] is really one huge wonderful story broken into 14 too short books that nobody wants to see ended..I can not express how good these books are. I have started 16 different friends reading TWoT and they are all addicted. You think that maybe the books are enchanted some how???
If fantasy is your genre you have arrived....... paul t.

Well done

Another excellent entry into the Wheel of Time. Well read and engrossing, the two narrators do an exemplary job of pulling the listener into the story. Some of the pronunciations are questionable (Ms. Reading and Mr. Kramer pronounce "Weiramon" differently, for example), but that is to be expected. All in all I was quite pleased.

Another Fantastic Addition to a Great Series!

I love this series and have enjoyed every edition of this audiobook collection more than the last. Flawless save for some minor consistency issues with name pronunciation. Rereading the series and what a joy it is.

skipping is a big issue

around chapters 6 and 7, there's a lot of skipping and repeating. It's very distracting and I feel like I missed some important context.

An adequate continuation of the saga.

Narration continues to be excellent. This book continues to adequately justify the investment of time made into the series.

A strong installment

While there were still things that got on my nerves this was much better than the prior book. The performances were impeccable. I love this narrator duo.
