Publisher's summary

Star Force is called to arms again! Outcast is a new beginning, the first book in a new spin-off series.

Many peaceful years have passed since the Macro Wars ended. Most of those who fought against the heartless machines have aged - but not the ingenious artificial construct known as Marvin. His insatiable curiosity is as strong as ever, and he’s brought home fresh perils to humanity’s doorstep.

The new Saga in the Star Force universe begins with Outcast, the longest book in the series. A full-length novel of military science fiction by best-selling authors B. V. Larson and David VanDyke.

The Adventure Continues

Still chock full of adventure and twists. I'm in Hensen's side, I want to be there when Cody utterly fails, and his gamble back-fires. There is little character development, and Cody is a carbon copy of his predecessor, but without the grit and realism of an actual character. Cody comes off as a comic-book character. This book does a great job of putting it in the next generations perspective. Past books are now recorded history, complete with distortion and denials that time brings to memory. Its worth the listen, fun & imaginative.

Aliens everywhere to kill

Any additional comments?

When we find life elsewhere they might not seem so strange as some in this book.

Outcast

This is the first book of the new series that focus on Cody Riggs. The son of the old Riggs of the Riggs Pigs in the Star Force Universe. He is a chip of the Riggs back and Cody is thrown into a major leadership position with everything occurring at once. This is an enjoyable read.

B.V. Larson does it again

What did you love best about Outcast?

Mr. Larson does space opera on a grand scale, while still keeping the human interest story line engaging. I was not sure how well the story would transfer from Kyle Riggs to Cody Riggs. It was a success. There is enough difference between the two to keep the tale interesting. Mark Boyett does an excellent job as narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

Reading the maturation process of Cody Riggs. B.V. Larson writes fun books with great characters.

What about Mark Boyett’s performance did you like?

Mr. Boyett is the voice of this franchise as well as the Undying Mercenaries books. He has an excellent range of emotion and characterization.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Several laughs, Marvin the Robot is a delight.

Any additional comments?

nope.

Totally template-based. Totally worth it.

What Larson did here was just swap the main character with his son and left everything else the same. Literally. And you know what? I'm a sucker for it. Keep them coming.

the story is fast pace and action filled and the narrator does the content justice.

Superb Continuation and Great Start to a New Gener

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely, if they were BV Larsen fans and had read the series. If not, I'd suggest they start at the beginning.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Outcast?

Can't say there is just one.

What does Mark Boyett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His reading style and voice continues what I've become used to, and listening is a great way to leverage my reading. He has been a wonderful narrator.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book if you've read the first 9 books, and the premise is quite interesting and a twist on nanotechnology.
