But things go awry when his oldest enemy returns. Enter his ex-wife. Zephyra. Just when he thought nothing could stop him, he's now embroiled in a centuries old war with a shrew who gives new meaning to pain.
Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

"This series puts a contemporary spin on classical mythology...irresistible." (Publishers Weekly)
I am so disappointed in this narration. I have loved the Dark Hunter Series and I am sad to say I will not be listening to the rest of this book.
It's hard to believe that this narrator couldn't even be bothered to listen to the previous recordings from the series. If he had he would have realized that many of the characters carry over from book to book and that changing the pronunciation would completely turn the listener off (SOOtarEEa as opposed to SAhTARia - the first one sounds like a disease, while to the other a beautiful Greek name)
Anyways I wish I had read more reviews before I paid for this recording.
The voice of the narrator was so horrid; I could not stomach listening to the entire book. It is a shame because I have enjoyed this series up till now. His whiny voices were out of character with the characters in the book. If this narrator continues to read for this author, I will have to find another series to listen to.
I love the Dark Hunter series by Sherilyn Kenyon. I purchase what is available on audible and buy the rest where I find them.
This book was entertaining- as long as you are able to ignore the horrible accents and voices the narrator uses for each character. The characters are supposed to be gods or demigods and the narrator makes them sound like old men- HELLO THEY ARE IN THEIR PRIME- and it is completely disgusting to hear the main character (Stryker)come on to his wife- the love scenes were nauseating- all because the narrator isn't suited to narrate this type of book.
Now, back to the book- I had to listen to it in small doses because of above mentioned problem- but the book was great- I love how each of the Dark Hunter books has its own story and action- they aren't really sequels to each other- but there is a main story intertwined with all of there plots. I love how each book gives you updates on characters from past books and a look a possible future books by introducing new characters.
I give the book 5 stars- but rate the audiobook at 2 because of the bad narrrator.
I completely agree with previous reviewers...good book-horrible narrator. There were inconsistant character voices, terrible pronunciations and just over-all difficult to listen to. Unfortunately, I should have skipped the audio on this one.
I am not a picky audio book listener. I can handle just about any reader, yet I couldn't even finish listening to this one. The reader does not do Sherrilyn Kenyon's books justice. I will buy the book and read it.
They listed Scott Brick as the narrator and it turned out to be some other guy that was downright awful. He obviously hasn't listened to any of the previous books because he pronounced alot of the Greek words and names wrong or different from previous narrators. If you've never listened to any of this series then you shouldn't have a problem but if you have, do yourself a favor and check it out from the library and read it instead.
I loved these Dark Hunter books, but frankly, I can barely stand to listen to this one. I just can't stomach the narration. I have never said this before about an audio selection and am usually pretty easy to please when it comes to narrater if I like the story, but he bugs me so much it is ruining the story. I am going to read this one myself and abandon listening.
I have enjoyed all of Kenyon's audiobooks until this one. For the first time, EVER, I did not finish listening to a book. The narrator murdered it.
BTW, the narrator shown on audible (Dufris)is a different name from the narrator shown on iTunes (Brick) but they sound like the same guy...and equally bad. Bad. Just bad.
Wow! Bad doesn't even describe this book. Total waste of time. This book was so dark, it had no redeeming qualities for the characters. You had to get past the narration which was beyond awful. The story line stunk also. I actually liked this series until I listened to this book. Sorry I wasted the actual money on it.
Well, i personally love this book, its the perfect sequel to follow Ash's story.... Stryker is awesome...the only thing that bothered me was the reader. Holter Graham read the greek words and pronounced the perfectly, and this guy is the worst at the pronouncing the words...i was a bit disappointed in that...but all in all the story itself is very good...
