Publisher's summary

While the world carries on unawares, Stryker, who leads an army of demons and vampires, is plotting an all out onslaught against his enemies—which, unfortunately for us, includes the entire human race. To avenge his sister, Stryker prepares to annihilate the Dark-Hunters. But things go awry when his oldest enemy returns. Enter his ex-wife. Zephyra. Just when he thought nothing could stop him, he's now embroiled in a centuries old war with a shrew who gives new meaning to pain.

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

whiny!

This book might have been good if almost the entire thing wasn't Zephyra whining about how much she hated Stryker. It got old really fast. And I certainly didn't like either of them as characters. Stryker might be saved but Zephyra is a big jerk. Note: the narrator for the audible book is awful and makes it all the worse to read.

Bad narration

I have every Dark Hunter Series book. Loved this book, but the narrator was horrible. I will not purchase another book narrated by Scott Brick.

Sherrilyn, please don't leave us to this narrator!

Where does One Silent Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The story is was very good, but it was so painful to listen to that narrator, that the overall enjoyment plummeted.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One Silent Night?

Honestly, all I can hear is the sniveling voice of the narrator when Media was introduced. I cringed.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Scott Brick?

Oh, God...anybody else! I could have done a better job, and that is not saying much. Please beg Fred Berman to read. He has the best pronunciations and really does Simi justice. Of course, you can't go wrong with Holter Graham.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was repulsed by the horrible narration. At first I thought is was a joke or some idea that was going to be worked into the story. The wining, condescending way he represents women should repulse Sherrilyn as much as it pulsed anyone, being the strong woman that she is.

Any additional comments?

Oh, no...not Dream Warrior, too. You used the same awful narrator? I am just starting Dream Warrior, and am tempted to actually not read it. Hey, it's painful. A book series that is in my top 5 favs of all time is being ruined by this really inept narrator. Please don't use him anymore, Sherrilyn. I beg you....!!!!

I love this book, but...

I really love all of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books. Not only are they great to read, but listening to them as an audio book has been great. However, I didn't like this readers voice at all. It sounded whiny(when talking in a female voice) and some of the male voices almost sounded ghostly and bored. It honestly was a bit difficult to listen to and finish. I would 100% recommend anyone to read this book, however I wouldn't recommend listening to this audio version.

Narration is bad.

It was very hard to listen to. I tried to go back and read the book but couldn't get the narrater out of my head. This story is pretty much ruined for me.

Narrator ruined this.

Would you try another book from Sherrilyn Kenyon and/or Scott Brick?

Sherrilyn Kenyon is a great writer so yes. Scott Brick did not narrate this, my Audible app says William Dufris did. I'm not sure which person it truly was but the narration was off putting. The story was quick and chessebally. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon though. My tastes have changed though over the years so that could've been an influence on the story's rating as well. I used to love the sexy scenes but now I want to flash through them to get to the stories and conflicts. hahaha She does write great dramatic fight scenes and battles.

What did you like best about this story?

Sherrilyn Kenyon wrote it.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Voices were distracting and awkward to listen to. Not sexy or manly at all. There was no "coolness" to the voices. Her previous books I read though, so this is my first time listening to the audiobook within the series.

Could you see One Silent Night being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No prissy punk Hollywood guy. Hugh Jackman, Dwayne Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin and the like would be better fit for the Dark-Hunters. The women should be strong ladies like Gabrielle Union, Uma Thurman nad Michelle Rodriguez.

Narrator is horrible!!! Book is good

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

it is a good story and you need to listen/read this story to keep up with the time line

What did you like best about this story?

Shows a human side to one of the major bad guys.

Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?

If it was a light and funny book like the Stefanie Plum series then maybe but his voice is not good for this series makes it sound childish and funny.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

When things don't go the way you mean them to.

Any additional comments?

Narrator makes it sound like a silly book when it isn't. His voices are horrible and sound like a child trying to read this great story. The book would have been so much better with one of the other Narrator's

Different narrator, but the story was good.

What made the experience of listening to One Silent Night the most enjoyable?

The story was different because it didn't really evolve around the dark hunters, but instead brought together various characters who don't like each other but have to work together against a common enemy.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One Silent Night?

The final fight scene was great.

What three words best describe Scott Brick’s performance?

Talented, Character-friendly, Inconsistent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was disappointed in the ending for Jared.

Any additional comments?

The thing that frustrates me the most is when there is a new narrator and they say names differently. Why don't they go back to previous books, even if they were read by someone else, and copy the pronunciation. It is very distracting.

Another Sexy Dark Hunter

Kenyon's Dark Hunter world gets hotter with each installment. You can't go wrong with any of her books, and on audio they are even more sexy with the character's accents. Excellent, professional narration. *Important to read this series in order*

WHAT THE HECK DID I JUST LISTEN TO?!!!

First of all, I don't know how they pick the narrator. But, this guy? I felt like I listening to an episode of Barney the whole time. It sucked!!! Sorry, I'm sure he's a great guy. It felt like a train wreck though. This did not feel like a Sherrilyn Kenyon book at all. I was so disappointed. It was irritating to listen to. The women sounding like spoiled rich bitches with their whiny voices and Stryker, who is supposed to be scary as shit, sounded like Barney. Please, for the love of all that is great in this world, don't let him narrate another book by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
