Publisher's summary

The grave is one wrong step away.

Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans’ voodoo queen just keeps on giving - leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity - forever. But how do you kill a killer who’s already long dead?

Jeaniene Frost, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, lives with her husband and their very spoiled dog in Florida. Although not a vampire herself, she confesses to having pale skin, wearing a lot of black, and sleeping in late whenever possible. Aside from writing, she enjoys reading, poetry, exploring old cemeteries, spelunking, and traveling - by car. Airplanes, children, and cookbooks frighten her.

Not the best in the series, but still great fun!

Would you consider the audio edition of One Grave at a Time to be better than the print version?

Tavia Gilbert's narration is brilliant! I haven't read the print version, but I doubt it could be better.

If you’ve listened to books by Jeaniene Frost before, how does this one compare?

This is not my favorite one. It is fun, but there are others that are better.

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

I loved it! She brings all characters alive. Her pace is great, her reading clear and the interpretation of each character impeccable. Really, really good.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to listen to Vlad's story.

An excellent escape from reality!

I really like this series. It's a little predictable and an excellent escape from reality for a few hours. It makes my commute seem short! The Narrator is AWESOME!!!!

Frost & Glibert at their best

I have listened to all of the available books in the Night Huntress realm, and I cannot say how much I enjoy hearing Tavia Glibert perform each one. It lends a welcome consistency to my vision of the characters. If you listen to and/or read enough series books (not just this one), you soon realize that many have redundant themes, and even redundant scenes, but not these. Each story is unique and entertaining. While the bad guys usually get their butts handed to them in the end and we learn more about our favorite vamps along the way, Frost does a stellar job of planting the seeds for the next story, whether it's in this series or one of the spin-offs.

Stood The Test Of Time

I adore this series! I love how this book stood the test of time. This is the second time I read it and I love it just as much now as I did when it was first published. For some reason, I find this series very relaxing to listen to when I want to wind down for the night so I've technically been reading this book in small increments for 4+ months.

Cat was kick*ss as ever! She's progressed so much throughout this series and her adventures get even more fascinating as time passes. I like the partnership and mutual respect she has going on with Bones.

Bones is a classic book boyfriend and I love him. He's just as protective as he is respectful. Cat and Bones have learned that communication works wonders when either one is in danger. That just makes everything that much more exhilarating when everything hits the metaphorical fan.

The ending was very satisfying! The evil ghost was getting on my nerves and I was glad to finally put him and this adventure to bed. Considering how much I enjoy this series I'll probably listen to the last book in the months to come.

The Audio Book:

The narration was great! Though I don't like Bones' voice throughout the series it has grown on me to a degree. It's not my favorite, but I can listen to the audio book without cringing every time he says something. Other than that, every time else was fine.

You know I love the series when I don’t scream every time I hear bones voice!

Note- where can I read what happened to her best friend, Denise?!?? I never read about her outcome!! Is it in a different series?!? Did I miss a novella? Did I fall asleep listening to that chapter?

Tavia Gilbert has ruined me!

Jeaniene Frost delivers once again. I love how Frost has continued to develop the relationship between Cat and Bones. It's nice to see a character grow and change, but it's even better when that character is self aware enough to realize the change.

I do have one problem with all of the stories in the Night Huntress World and that is Tavia Gilbert. Her reading is so well done that she sets a high bar for other narrators. Each and every character has a unique voice, even as the universe expands. The only other narration that comes close is that of the Lords of the Underworld series. I'd give her performance 6 stars if I could.
