Publisher's summary

Bahzell is no knight in shining armor, and besides he has too many problems of his own to be messing with anybody else's problems - let alone the War God's. Unfortunately, the War God has other ideas for him.

Really fun listen/read

This was a real pleasure to listen to. It was just fun, well written and performed. Not a heavy story.

Great story and narration but a little bloodthirst

I really enjoyed the story and narrations but the battle scenes were extremely graphic and bloody...only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars

Enjoyed it so much I purchased the other 3 books

The book was totally enjoyable. The plot was far fetched and this disassociation with the "real" world made it prime entertainment.

Just try it

A little jumbled at the start but worth sticking with. Second book is even better.

Fast Paced and Action Packed

Oath of Swords is an excellent fantasy book that will whisk you away to another world with its story. Weber writes compelling and likable characters, keeping the plot moving, interesting, and entertaining all at the same time. The characters all seem distinct and their banter is genuinely funny.

The plot gets going right from the beginning, catapulting the main character into action from the first few minutes of the book. It follows him on his hero's journey across many leagues, picking up companions along the way. It has me excited to start the next book in the series.

The narration is excellent, with the narrator providing many different accents and tones to his characters. There are rich bass and baritone characters, along with characters with Scottish brogues and exotic and sultry accents.

Overall this was a great listening experience, and one that would wholeheartedly recommend to someone looking for a bit of heroic fantasy.

Fun fantasy

I`m a fan of Webers Harrington series so i figured id use a spare credit to check this one out. Its start out really generic, and i actually stopped listening to the book and moved on to other ones.
But i figured hey i bought it so i shud at least listen to the entire thing. And it gets a lot better. Some great ball busting humor between the story's to main character and some good action scenes.

Hold judgement through first five minutes.

The is a good book, by a good author. However, the opeing is crude; as in not very adult; get past the first five minutes and the book is quite good.
