The US government has avoided using supernaturals in the past, concerned that public knowledge of their existence will pose greater risks than any benefits. But, after Missy agrees to help her Paranormal Branch buddies and one thing leads to another...the question then becomes whether Missy can somehow provide assistance during an international crisis without the world learning about her supernatural powers and abilities.
Meanwhile, when Missy interferes with sexual harassment at West Point by going around and putting everyone there on notice, she becomes the target. Controlling herself...doing things in plain sight which almost look humanly possible...that just might be her greatest ability.

I haven't read the first two novels in the series. A lot of novels start off confusing, but I didn't have any issues jumping into book # 3. I started the story a little skeptical by how the characters are focused on their appearance and relationships, but the story quickly picked up and we got to the meat of the urban fantasy. I thought it was a nice mix of pace and action that complemented the story well.
I haven't heard another story by this author, but I have heard the narrator before. Same as the other story, she's done a fantastic job.
Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. - Plato
I have read the previous books from this series and would highly recommend reading them before book 3 but if you decide to go ahead and start with this one, you will still be able to enjoy it and follow easily. It could be consider a stand alone.
Missy is an awesome character! She is compassionate, supportive, fair, and an amazing heroine! She can do incredible things with her supernatural abilities but she is humble.
She helps someone that has been out to get her for awhile. She also manages to destroy some scum bags that used to abuse women in the Military! They were horrible and deserve everything they got!
Missy actually does 2 missions in this book and rocks both of them! Nobody can get the information she gets without being noticed.
The narrator does a good job bringing the story to life.

I like a wide range of genres. Favorites include Horror, SciFi, Fantasy, Thriller, LGBT, classics and history.
I really enjoyed this book. Not having read the first 2 books it was nice to discover I really didn't need to. The book stands on its own. I enjoyed the story, characters and mythology created. I did feel the story dragged at times, I found myself not paying attention sometimes. But overall it's a nice fun urban fantasy.
The narrator did a wonderful job. Great performance.

Let's start off with I have not read volume 1 or 2 of this series though after listening to this volume I would love to.
Though the titles is Missy's first Mission I feel like the first quarter of the book have nothing to do with this point though I would not change it. The next two quarters are leading up to the main point of this book and the last quarter was what the title was about.
I loved this book though some scenes I would describe as erotica more then Fantasy. Overall this book was amazing and I actually listened to the entire book in a single day.
I hope I get the chance to read the first two volumes or any future volumes.
I would like to note I got this audiobook free from the owner or someone who represented the owner in return for an unbiased review.
Though I got the book for free I would like to note that this book is one I would have purchased or used a monthly free book to get.
Also note the first 2 chapters start off slow where you are getting the intro type beginning but the book really picks up only getting better and better to the point where in the end you are sad there wasn't another mission in the works.
Missy, the female lead, has learned how to control her "Abilities" and is now helping the Military.
This book is full of Action and a bit of Suspense.
Overall, this book was Entertaining and was a great weekend read.
Meghan Kelly did well with the narration.

3.5 stars overall
Entertaining and enjoyable story.
I have not listened to the previous books in this series, at some point I will have to catch up. I don't think this affected my enjoyment of the story. It can definitely be read as a stand alone story. But I would start at the beginning of the series to get the full backstory.
Missy is an interesting character. Witch, Shifter, Cadet at West Point. Missy is one busy girl. Love that she is a confident but compassionate character. I hate characters that start out strong then dissolve into wimps. She doesn't back down from a fight, she refuses to let herself or others be bullied or used. She serves up some well deserved justice to a group of disgusting individuals.
This story is different than most shifter stories I have read in the fact that she is a female Shifter and in the military. The government knows about Shifters, but not the general population. Missy's abilities become an asset for her missions with the military.
There story started a little slow for me but once it got going it never slowed down.
Meghan Kelly does the narration for this series. She has a very distinct voice. Great character voices. This makes the story even more enjoyable. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. A little to soft spoken for me times during the narrative parts. All the character parts are great. But that's just a personal thing.

I am a avaid audiobook listener and always have a headphone is in when I can.
First things first i got a copy of this for a honest review. Here go.
If you are looking at this book and haven't read the previous two then go start there! They are both amazing, if you read the other two then you already know how good it is so I don't know why you aren't listening right now.
The narration was awesome like always, and the story keep me listening even when I should have been doing other things. Like the last books the characters feel real and don't feel like cutouts for their rolls.
Read the book!
I enjoyed this story. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to listen to the first two books in this series, but this story does well on its own. There are lots of characters so be prepared to keep track. The characters are interesting and the story is a fun fantasy with some good action and romance. The narrator does a nice job at using different voices to differentiate each character, which makes it easy to follow the story. The only criticism I have is that at times the author gets into more detail than necessary about the environment. I did not find that it added to the story, so at times it made me want to fast forward to get to the heart of the action. Overall I highly recommend this audiobook.

I have never given a bad review before but they asked me to be honest. I could only make it to Chapter 17. I just can't seem to make myself want to finish it. By this chapter she has completed her first mission so I am not sure what else there is to write about. The book needs alot of work. It was very choppy with alot of weird dialogue. I'm sorry to say but I wouldn't recommend or try any of the other books in the series. Thanks to the author and Audioboom for allowing me this chance.
This is Missy's first mission after completing her first year at West Point. She does a lot of good including helping the guy who tried to get her killed to heal by pushing a little magic into his leg after his accident. I love the interaction between her and Mike. He is so supportive of her and she does all that she knows how to do to support him as well. I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. The narrator did not resonate with me in this book. I think perhaps two narrators would have been better one male and one female. There were a lot of male voices in this book and they all sounded like females. I also did not care for the husband and wife doctor team in this book.
20% sex 30% story 50% filler. Not as good as book one or two but ok.
