The US Government's Paranormal Branch has learned Missy's secret and followed most of her activities. They have her FBI friend join their team, telling him that other supernaturals also exist but Missy is the only female werecat. They want Missy to go on to West Point and tell him that "being a vigilante is not what we want for this girl."
But, what had started out as her simply trying to help protect another teenage girl eventually led to her being targeted by both the East Boston and New York criminal organizations. With some help from her FBI friend, she copes with crime bosses while finishing high school and starting out at West Point. She also gets some help from her new friends at West Point but makes some enemies there as well.
Even with all this help and her enhanced senses, Missy sure has her work cut out for her!

This quick paced enjoyable audiobook is defiantly an 18 plus read due to its explicit sexual content. Even though I had not read the first in the series, I had no problem following the storyline as the author did a good job of filling the reader in on any relevant aspects from the first book. Missy the Werecat has graduated from high school and started her military training. Her life is progressing well; she has gained more control over her powers and is even developing a few new ones, Mike and her have bonded (hence the sexual scenes) and she is flourishing well at West Point. Missy is a caring, intelligent, tough character who isn't afraid to fight to protect those she cares for. She copes well when she discovers that a special branch of the Government know she is a shifter and is able to enlist their help in dealing with the Mob. Mike is Missy's human boyfriend, he is exceedingly understanding and supportive and the chemistry between him and Missy is great, but sometimes the sex scenes are too long and overpower the storyline rather than add to it. Her adventures at West Point are enjoyable and the friends she makes are appealing and interesting. The narration was well done and it fit the story well. I received this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Audio books are growing. I have listened to books for months now, But I prefer my books in paperback/hardback format.
Its similar to the first book to the series.
I received this book from the author in exchange for a fair review

First things first I received a free copy of this story for a honest review!
And I loved the story it picks up right where the first book left off and I love how real the character feal even if they aren't major characters.
Awesome narration as per the last book.
Give this series a chance!
My 1st crush was Perry Mason & I wanted to be Agatha Christie! I truly love ALL genres though! Amanda Ronconi, Lorelei King, Scott Brick :)
This book came across as a pornographic knock off of the Jane Yellowrock and/or Kitty Norville series. Frankly I simply found little redeeming about this book ...
Shadow Rites by Faith Hunter
I don't believe the poor performance was the fault of the narrator ... Meghan Kelly just didn't have much to work with in this case.
Perhaps this book would appeal to fans of teen based graphic sex novels ... Are there such things? Overall there was just no symmetry to the story, no development of the characters, nothing to make you feel invested or involved in their story ... Just blather, blather, sex, blather, blather, sex ...
If you read Jeanine Frost you know how love scenes should be written. This is the exact opposite. Instead of intimate it's just gross and crude. I kept excepting to hear Bow Chicka Wow Wow playing in the background throughout the book. At least then I could have gotten a good laugh.

Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. - Plato
Such a fun book! I could hardly put it down. I have not listened to the first book but I'm looking forward to getting it as well so I can learn more background information on Missy and Mike.
Wow! Being a werecat would be so awesome! This is my first book about a cat shifter but I really loved it.
Missy is such a amazing Character! A great heroine. Mike is so understanding and sweet! Great romance and chemistry between them.
Missy has some pretty great adventures. The Author does a great job describing everything in detail. Some of the things at the end were pretty funny!
The narrator did an awesome job. I'm looking forward to listening to more of his audiobooks.

I was very pleased when I got the chance to review the first book in this series, Missy the Werecat. It was a really pleasant surprise and very different than any other paranormal shifter tales I had come across. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review this installment as well. Missy is back and carrying on her dream of going to West Point Academy and is just as smart and sassy, and fun and funny as in the previous book. I once again found myself fully engaged in Missy's story and spent the entire night listening. Kudos to both the author and the narrator who both once again made this a terrific experience. I was gives a complimentary copy of this audiobook for an honest review and can't wait to see what Missy gets up to next.
I think that this book is written for a younger audience despite the sex.The main character is to naive and sweet for my taste. The narrator has a pleasant voice and did a good job portraying the story.Overall the book was ok,but I will not be continuing the series.I received an audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in a series, but it can stand alone. I had no trouble keeping up with the pace. Missy is a shape shifter and becomes a beautiful mountain lion. The first time she shifted, she had to stay on a mountain in her werecat form until she learned how to shift back into a human. She has returned home and in the beginning of this book she is showing her brother how she can change. This seems to be some sort of genetic trait that skips many generations and pops up randomly.
Missy meets up with an agent named Robert. Robert is in the first book and Missy trusts him completely. Robert works for a new branch of the government that handles paranormal activity. Missy has provided the government with information about illegal activities and Robert helped her in the past. Missy catches more of the mob members and Robert comes to pick them up. There is a funny scene where she is holding onto and chewing a man’s hand in her cat mouth waiting for Robert to arrive. Robert informs Missy that she is not the only werecat, but she is the only female werecat. The rest are men.
Missy is very in love with Mike. When Mike touches her she gets into some hyper aware sexual state. She and Mike finally have sex and this takes up a big section of a chapter filled with Hot and Steamy sex. Missy has told Mike about what she is and Mike still loves her. He did not run...he stayed and is now a big part of her life. With her love life secure, Missy is accepted to West Point. There she meets her roommate Tracy. Tracy has paranormal gifts too.
I am not going to give away any spoilers, but she ends up finding another werecat male. This male werecat works for the mob and the mob is clueless that he can shift. He goes to the mountains and smells her scent. Then the action begins.
I am going to buy books 1 and 3 now. This is a good series. Missy is loyal, smart, loves her family and friends and is finally coming into her full powers.

"Quick pace and very enjoyable"
I enjoyed it. The focus of the story is very much on Missy and how she is developing as a person, and it's great.
The increasing social circle and personal growth of Missy
I like the way she deals with the mob
Missy is a great character. A nice person that wants to help people, causing her to run into trouble. The book feels like getting to know her so it's hard to pick one thing about it.
