For journalist Dylan Alexander, it began with the discovery of a hidden tomb, thrusting her into the center of a gathering storm of violence and secrets. But nothing is as dangerous as the scarred, lethally seductive man who rises from the shadows to draw her into his world of dark desire and endless night.
Fueled by pain and rage over a shattering betrayal, the warrior Rio has pledged his life to the war against the Rogues. He will let nothing stand in his way - least of all a mortal woman with the power to expose the entire vampire race. For an ancient evil has been awakened, and a stunning darkness is on the rise. Suddenly, Dylan is powerless to resist Rio's touch, even as she uncovers a shocking link to her own past. And now she must choose: Leave Rio's midnight realm, or risk it all for the man who has shown her true passion and the infinite pleasures of the heart.

"This is a spellbinding series!" (RomanceJunkies.com)
I loved the entire series. I cannot wait until audible produces the rest of the books in the series. The author does an excellent job of developing the characters. I really enjoyed that she kept characters from previous books up-to-date and continued developing them even after "their" books ended. Narrator does a good job. Like I said LOVED IT!
I have been waiting for Rio's story and I was not disappointed. I finished reading and had to start over
because it was just that good! Thanks Audible
I loved the entire series! I cannot wait for Chase's book to come next! The narrator is so good with changing her voice to accommodate each character. I just love it. I hope the next book comes out soon!
I started listing to this series and got so impatient to listen to Rio’s story that I bought the book. I Loved it. So much so that even though I had already read it I just had to have it on audio. It’s a great series I highly recommend.
I love this series and this narrator my first experience with this series was by mp3 format and I was instantly hooked and this book is no different. Great character voices and story line not to mention steamy love scenes.
When I first started this series I thought it was pretty much a BDB copy, but this book is where Lara Adrian found her own footing and went for it. I love that the breed mates have a power of their own and it compliments the warriors power. this series has a little bit of mystery that is what separate this series from the BDB. If you love the BDB series you will definitely love this one!
This story took forever to come full circle. I liked it but it ended all too soon. I can't decide if I like the narrator or not. I enjoyed her voice and her accent but at some depiction of characters she faltered.
Definitely kept the door open to a vast number of other books for many story lines. It seems to be a constant with these type of novels. I enjoyed the electricity between Rio and the heroine.
Overall, yes I'd listen to it again.
I liked this series when I started listening. Now, I love it. Not only do the books get better, but the narrator gets better as well. I also like the fact that there is narrator continuity. It's sometimes a series deal-breaker when a series switches narrators.
I've become mesmerized by this series. As Lara Adrian fleshes out the world of her vampires, the series takes on a life of itself.
This is my favorite of the books so far. I can't stop listening- I'm going to finish this 10 book series pretty quickly: I've been listening back to back. Stayed up all night for this one! Now it's time for book 5. :)
Thank you to the audio producers for committing this entire series to audio book. If we can get Kresley Cole books as well, I will be a happy customer!
Crazy for audiobooks!!
I did enjoy this book; however, I felt it was a bit slower than it needed to be. It seemed drawn out to me and somewhat off plot from time to time. There were areas that I felt could have been better explained.
I was very pleased that by half way through the book that Dylan quit asking one question after the other (reminded me of when my children were toddlers). Made me a bit irritated.
Dylan and Rio are both good characters as the book develops so does their love for one another.
I would recommend this book and besides wanting to know more about Dylan's Mom and how she became a Breed Mate. I didn't understand how it happened.
Book 4, in my estimation, is the best in the series. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but I have been looking forward to Rio's story since his ordeal in warehouse explosion and the betrayal of his breed mate, Eva.
God bless Dylan for her persistence.
Lara Adrian has an amazing ability to create the world the Breeds live and wage war in and now we get to hear where they came from and an up close and personal look at "papa & grandpa breed". Whew !
