Publisher's summary

For journalist Dylan Alexander, it began with the discovery of a hidden tomb, thrusting her into the center of a gathering storm of violence and secrets. But nothing is as dangerous as the scarred, lethally seductive man who rises from the shadows to draw her into his world of dark desire and endless night.

Fueled by pain and rage over a shattering betrayal, the warrior Rio has pledged his life to the war against the Rogues. He will let nothing stand in his way - least of all a mortal woman with the power to expose the entire vampire race. For an ancient evil has been awakened, and a stunning darkness is on the rise. Suddenly, Dylan is powerless to resist Rio's touch, even as she uncovers a shocking link to her own past. And now she must choose: Leave Rio's midnight realm, or risk it all for the man who has shown her true passion and the infinite pleasures of the heart.

BOOK 4 HAS RISEN TO #1 !!!

Book 4, in my estimation, is the best in the series. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but I have been looking forward to Rio's story since his ordeal in warehouse explosion and the betrayal of his breed mate, Eva.

God bless Dylan for her persistence.

Lara Adrian has an amazing ability to create the world the Breeds live and wage war in and now we get to hear where they came from and an up close and personal look at "papa & grandpa breed". Whew !

WOW!

When I first started this series I thought it was pretty much a BDB copy, but this book is where Lara Adrian found her own footing and went for it. I love that the breed mates have a power of their own and it compliments the warriors power. this series has a little bit of mystery that is what separate this series from the BDB. If you love the BDB series you will definitely love this one!

Above average...bit intense

This is book 4, hard to say anything that hasn't already been said....this book was a bit more intense than the others, not due to the evil threats but it delved into some really touchy subjects like suicide, and invasion of privacy issues.

We start this book 5 months after the end of book 3...Rio is still at the "cave"...and he is lost within himself. He can't muster the power to feed, or feel and he is plagued by nightmares of his dead mate begging for forgiveness...he has no inclination to fight, or live...enter our heroine Dylan (her parents were hippies give her a break!)

The romance that formed was a bit on the unbelievable side...I can't see a warrior who has lived for centuries being okay with his dead mates betrayal and then jumping in with another woman...I mean surely he would take a decade or two he is immortal!

But overall it was a good story, just a bit too on the darker side of life for me.

Midnight Rising

Dylan was very “forced” feeling to me. She was pushy and aggravating, and got on my nerves. These are all just my opinions, of course, but she was too brash for my taste in a Breedmate.. Hillary Huber did wonderfully in her narration, as always.. My only complaint is all her accents basically sound the same. Czech, Spanish, Russian, Italian.. all should sound distinctly different... lol. Overall this isn’t my favorite book in the series..

Midnight Rising The Midnight Breed Book 4.

Started with the ghost of a breed mate seeking help from a traveler in the Czech Republic out of Europe in Prague. The ghost was seeking the help of Dylan Alexander in a way she did not understand or comprehend before now. She did try to see if she can give the ghost the help she is seeking. Dylan took the place of her mother since her mother is sick and getting chemotherapy. Her cancer has returned again this time with a revenge and this time she is not expected to survive. As things went, she went back to the cave their she met Eleuteriode la Noche Atanacio known as (Rio) for short. She went back to take some picture and as well as help Rio. But unfortunately, she was scared out of her mind. That made her leave the place without the intention of coming back. She thought she could move on but her boss called her and asked that she take some men back to the site to get some more images. But unknown to her Rio came after her looks for her but at the same time saving her from a faith she was not aware of. Rio was asked to get her and take her to Germany to Andreas Reichen estate while they are provided with plane back home. His goal was to explain to Dylan Alexander about her role as a breed mate in their community and their race.

One of my favorites!

This series is so good! You should definitely start with the first book and enjoy the little glimpses of the previous characters that are woven into each book. Rio’s story was so good. After all he went though, it was about time for him to find his happiness.

Narration was good and brought the story to life.

Dylan was a bit annoying at first with her million questions but I’m glad she settled down a bit as things moved along.

Like in the previous books in this series, once I started listening, it was hard to put down. The story moved at a great pace. This author really knows how to grab our attention from beginning to conclusion.

Looking forward to the next book.

Rio Surprised Me

I love the series but wasn't sure about this one. I knew I'd be lost to it but it had more to do with what would happen next in the Breed/Ancient/ Dragos saga. Rio was so angry, so tortured....but his vulnerability surprised me. I loved Dylan's strength & courage & even found myself shedding a tear for Eva. This series has been enjoyable thus far & I'm looking forward to Niko's story next.

So very good!!!

This one is my favorite of the series so far! I had hoped, but didn’t think Rio would get a chance until many other books later in the series. I just adore them and the narrator brings all the characters to life so well.
