Publisher's summary

Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shape-shifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta. Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shape-shifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute - and they’ll pay him in medicine. With the young people’s survival and the Pack’s future at stake, Kate and Curran know they must accept the offer - but they have little doubt that they’re heading straight into a trap.…

One of the best of the series!

I usually get bored with these ongoing series, cause they lose their luster after awhile and the characters get stale, but I have to admit this series just gets better. The characters become more endearing, and these authors keep adding to the mystic of this new world they have created. It's so easy to visualize the monsters and the places Andrews takes us to, that the story just seems to flow, so that you don't want it to end.
On the other hand, I did want it to end to see just where Kate and Curran would end up in their relationship. This story dealt with a lot of personal feelings, frustrations, deceit, and heartbreak, along with great choreographed fight sequences. I do like it, that Julie had a minor part in this story, and Kate's emotional struggles were with Curran, and her troubled upbringing, along with more background from Hugh.
Renee Raudman does her usual excellent job of narration. No one else could be Kate and these characters, as she brings them to life with such enthusiasm.

Can't wait for more Kate!!!

This story just keeps getting better. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. I forgot this one was coming and randomly started re-listening to all the other books which took me right to this release, I was SO happily surprised!!!

I laughed and cried, this was Kate's toughest challenge yet and it was close but to say more would be to spoil it for everyone else..

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!!

Love, love, love

This book packed a serious punch. I mean they all seem to pack a punch, but this one was hardcore.

First I thought I was going to lose Curran as one of my favorite heroes....I'm relieved to say that didn't happen. He had some explaining to do and he did just that.

Kate was even more bad*** than her usual and that's saying a lot. I just love how deadly she is. Especially as the one being perceived as the weakest of the bunch. I jut get a kick out seeing her prove that theory wrong. Every time.

I also like how this book took us somewhere different. It was like a detour from the series for a bit of change but kept all the things we love about the series. This is one of my favorite books in the series so far...looking forward to reading more.

Good

All throughout the series I have really liked Kate and the beast Lord Curran. Two of the children have gone loop but only one of them has come back to normal. Kate does not want to do the same thing to that child to prevent her from going loop as she did with Julie. Kate and Curran have decided to take 10 of their pack across the sea with them to the European pack. Their job is to protect a pregnant pack woman until she gives birth. Apparently, all three European packs are fighting over whose babies they are, and are waiting for them to be born. Not only does Kate find this mission difficult, because the pregnant woman is a pain, but she also runs into one of her enemies. Unfortunately, she’s not really sure how to handle him and she also needs to learn to have a little more trust in her mate. This book also has some tearjerker moments. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

I love the Kate Daniels Series

I SO enjoy this series so much (and just about every book written by this couple). The voice actor is my favorite too! She is SO good!! The main character Kate is a magic wielding kick butt kind of gal, with a good heart. Curran is a mighty Alpha Lion that will do anything for Kate, or to protect her, and his pack. I can’t get enough of this series and I hope the voice actor stays with the series all the way threw as they continue to write books. I loved the battle scenes and how detailed these books are, as I never get bored. It’s exciting and fun. They write so well, I feel like I am Kate while listening, and the adventures keeps me engaged all the way through. Btw, thanks for the bonus section at the end of the book.

Heart wrenching

Without giving too much away, I can say that this book slayed me. I was fearful from the start when I knew that they were traveling to an unsafe place. Some of my fears were fulfilled. Thankfully there was loads of humor to cut the tension because there was a lot of tense moments. Having said that, I loved the whole story. It was an excellent read. Once again the narrator was awesome.

Narration

Narration is really bad. Curran sounds like an old man and Kate like a dimwitted teen. :(

Fascinating turn of events!

This is both an action based series and one that continues to develops Kate's relationship with Curran. In many ways this is a pivotal book in the series. There are a few new characters. introduced
We finally get to meet Hugh Ambray see just a glimpse of how ruthless he can be.
Excellent book and narration.
Enjoy!
