Love the series

The BDB series is great & I’ve never had an issue w/the narrator’s performance, but this one was definitely off.
There was so much background noise, throat clearing, swallowing noises, etc & it was rather distracting. All the other books I’ll happily listen to again, but I just can’t with this one, due to the excessive noises.
So far this is the only one I’ve noticed these issues with.

Can't stop listening

Incredible world developed for our enjoyment. Ward is a wizard; she knows just how to push the buttons of her audience. Awesome story line and character development, you really feel a part of the action. Lovely fantasy opportunities.

best book

I think it was that we followed these characters for so long. the anticipation that they would get together so drawn out. this was my favorite of the 8 books so far.

Not just one story, but many and ongoing.

Another great one by JR Ward. I had looked forward to hearing John's story and it doesn't disappoint. This one and Z story are the best in my opinion so far. This series has taken me a while to really get into it, but I'm starting to want to read the books right in a row. This is usually a good sign how well I like the story. There are dark aspects to this book that might put some people off such as rape and gay relations. The editing sound is weird; occasionally the sound will switch back and forth from normal to a muffled sound. The muffled sound usually doesn’t last long though. Defiantly needs to be read in order start with Dark Lover.

The Human condition

I absolutely love the Black Dagger series. I can't say why exactly, but ...the characters are like family. I will truly miss them when and if the series ends. Oh. I know now why I am so attached. The characters in these books are so human, and the writing is so excellent. These books are so worth reading.

Wonderful story!

I really enjoyed this story as it has a strong, resilient female with a male who respects and honors her strength.

Disappointed

I love this series and have both re-read and re-listened to all the previous books. However,(1) LM had so many story lines going at once, I stayed frustrated with all the interruptions to "peek" in on what's happening with other characters. (2) The two main characters must have had personality transplants because they were unrecognizable from the characters we came to know and love in previous books (3) the editing on the audiobook was awful. There are loooooong pauses and voice changes where , I'm guessing, errors were corrected. There were even a couple of places where ambient sounds were heard.
I have enjoyed the BDB series so much that it is difficult for me to critize anything J. R. Ward writes and I will continue to buy the BDB books. I just think that this time, the book did not live up to the hype.

Lover Mine: Black Dagger Brotherhood

The story line as always is fantastic... the recording/reader has to many gaps... the pause between the chapters and half way through certain areas makes me think something is wrong with my Ipod. Whom ever did the piecing together of the story/recording .. YOU suck.
J R ward you rock.

Best one in the series!

Okay... first thing, if you haven't read the rest of the series, do so now. And if you *have* read the rest of this series, you should be reading Lover Mine right now, not this review. Seriously. I'm not kidding. Go... now... get this book and read it.

It's a great story, with great characters (though it's much much better if you've read the other books 'cause the characters are fully fleshed by this installment). If you like vampires, sex, drama, suspense, and butt-kicking justice, you'll like this book. Period.

If you don't like any of that, you wouldn't have read any others in this series so won't be interested in reading this one either.

Otherwise, if you liked any of the BDB books, this is, by far, the best of the bunch. The narration is excellent.

An Amazing Story!!

Where does Lover Mine rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is one of my favorites in this series thus far. The author has a mind blowing way of telling a story. She writes both male and female characters beautifully It has been awe-inspiring to watch characters grow and evolve. Her catchy descriptions and cool way of having the characters speak and think keep you laughing and intrigued. Ex. Plastic fantastic (my favorite!),hammering the hootch, cry baby emo, chickin' out, running man impression, little lesser and lady gaga gig. Just to name a few!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lash in this story it was awesome to see how he was deteriorating. And John Matthew for how he has been developing from the earlier books.

What does Jim Frangione bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is an excellent narrator. Although it would be nice if they could use a woman for the female characters. It would make it even better.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Lover of Mine

Any additional comments?

Yes! I look forward to the next books.
