Defending your country - winning your home

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This second book was the first I read as a lad and intrigued me with the reality of the impact of outrageous science from long lost civilisations on a mechanistic society, cultural sensitivity to indigenous locals who weren't quite as savage as they appeared and a love of animal companions.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Storm whose grief from the loss of his history and family is a very believable motivation for the action.

Old school adventure space fantasy

Old school adventure space fantasy. A young man and his psychically connected animals confront ancient secrets and new perils on their adaptive planet. Good escapism with an early 60s voice.

cowboy and spaceman rolled into 1

2nd in the series, Andree Norton again writes with a clarity and ease. While entertaining it speaks of human emotions on another world, with exotic animals as part on your individual team, your friends, where you are not alone unless the unexpected, someone foreign even to a worldly traveler expects. How I wish the rest of this series could be obtained by audible. Children of all ages move close to hear these stories that have previously been read to them since 1958 and are as loved today as the first time my father read it to me. Enjoy.
