Publisher's summary

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In Lord of Chaos, the sixth novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, builds his army of Light even as sworn enemies--and supposed allies--move against him.

Now ruling Tear, Andor, and Caemlyn, among other nations, Rand is recruiting all men capable of channeling to be trained as his Asha'man soldiers. The warrior Aiel clans have pledged loyalty to Rand, acknowledging him as their chief of chiefs, even though the Shaido Aiel remain a threat.

Split into two factions, the Aes Sedai of the White Tower and their rebel counterparts both seek to ally themselves with the Dragon Reborn. Rand knows all too well the manipulative nature of the Aes Sedai, no matter which side of their internal war they stand upon. But even he cannot predict just how desperate, cruel, and treacherous they can be.

And in the shadows, the Forsaken and the Dark One are conjuring even more chaos...

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

good but could have trimmed 5 hours.

the story was still amazing but a lot of fluff was added that didn't need to be there.

Audiobook version got me back into the series

Tremendous narration brought the story to life again after a while away from the series.

So glad I decided to work this book into my commute. The Wheel of Time books have such compelling characters and stories, and the narrators brought them to life in a new way. highly recommend.

Loved this One

I’ll admit I very late to this saga. I love these stories so much. I’m not the most elegant reviewer. But this is my favorite book thus far in the series.

Amazing book

I've read or heard this book well over a dozen times, and it still gives me goosebumps during the climax. There are two lines in the final chapter that send a shiver of excitement down my spine, and the way the hair says them makes them even better. If you've already read the book, you probably know exactly which two lines I'm talking about.

character growth and story development

Rand a'lthor mat cauthin and Perrin aybara all grow as characters while egwene, nynave also from the two Rivers become asadai female magic users while egwene becomes the ameril seat or head of the asadai. Turmoil and distrust is everywhere. With the loss of moraine sadai to guide Rand he moves forward trying to dispel the notion that he is going crazy with the voice of Lewis therrin in his head.

Another editing misstep

The storyline thus far is still quite moving; the readers still as lively as ever. The editors, however, seem to be getting worse. Long pauses where there should be none, a couple times sentences are repeated, and some even cut off. Small annoyances that detract from an otherwise great read/performance. I’d hire Michael Kramer to read any fantasy novel given his abilities.

Best ever

Best I have read!! Crisp, believable world with deep characters that have both common and extraordinary problems, imperfect and normal personalities that make them uniquely… human.
